Wikimania 2027, the 22nd Wikimedia conference, is planned to be an in-person and online event in the third quarter of 2027.

Expressions of interest

In a diff blog post, the Wikimania Committee request interested parties to write the Wikimania Steering Committee their expressions of interest to host the 22nd Wikimania. Proponents must be in a regional or global thematic collaborative setup similar to ESEAP, CEE, EARTH and WikiFranca. For 2027, the Steering Committee suggest venue locations in the Latin America or South Asia regions.

Announcement

The Wikimania Committee will review all expressions of interest, short list the candidate region/locations in 2024 and candidate regions/locations must refrain from doing conference and social event venue reservations or commit to any partner organizations prior to the announcement.

The Committee will announce their decision on the next host location after Wikimania 2024 and before Wikimania 2025.
