* I am a bit on the neutral here. I don't understand the language but it looks like: Since they can't request CU for having similar username, they warn the users for having similar names to sockpuppet users. I don't really know what the warning says, but that's what it would really depend on for me. Those diff above are fairly recent so a little hesitant to support, but overall I don't see any other major issues.--[[User:BRPever|BRP]]'''[[User talk:BRPever|'' ever'']]''' 07:14, 1 May 2024 (UTC) |

This is not a vote and any active Wikimedia editor may participate in the discussion.
Global rollback and global interface editor requests require no fewer than 5 days of discussion while abuse filter helper and maintainer requests require no fewer than 7 days. Global renamer and global sysop requests require no fewer than 2 weeks of discussion. For requests that are unlikely to pass under any circumstances, they may be closed by a steward without further discussion (after a reasonable amount of input).

Hello. I have sysop rights on Persian wikis and am a member of the Global Renamers team. I often deal with cross-wiki vandals and LTAs. as I am an active member of SWMT in cross-wiki vandalism/spam patrolling. I think a global rollbacker will definitely help me in my work. I've read and understand the global rollback policy. Thanks for your consideration Déjà vu • ✉ 23:07, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

As an administrator at Indonesian Wikipedia, I'm always on patrol to check for problematic usernames. From that, I applied for Global Renamer status to speed up the process of requesting user name changes. Ariandi Lie Talk with me 02:34, 29 April 2024 (UTC)

Weak oppose. I'm slightly concerned about the judgement it will take if he becomes a global renamer. In the past, he asked some users to change their names for confusing reasons (although the latter one has been renamed by a global renamer). The criteria for confusing usernames on idwiki is listed clearly in Wikipedia:Kebijakan nama pengguna and based on that, the users above did not violate the criteria. I declined some username change requests several times because his reason was not applicable. ··· 🌸 Rachmat04 · ☕ 08:40, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Ariandi Lie can you please comment on this? Are you aware of the local policy? Do you unterstand what Rachmat04 criticizes? TenWhile6 (talk | SWMT) 21:42, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- yes. I understand what is meant. In fact, I often find that reasonable usernames are given warnings by previous administrators or users that have been stored for years. sometimes I have to remove the warning. In fact, that I found users, especially sockpuppet users, who deliberately created many accounts with names that I felt were confusing without making any contribution at all to any wiki projects. Where I found this user, in a day, could create 2 or more new user accounts with almost the same name. I can't report for sockpuppet investigations because of this. One of my ways is to provide a warning via the username warning. and usually they never change their username or may be rejected by Rachmat04 when changing their name because my reason wasn't applicable. - @Ariandi Lie I am a bit confused. You said, one of your ways to deal with sockpuppets and "confusing" usernames is provide a warning via the username warning and maybe get rejected by Rachmat04 when changing their name because my reason wasn't applicable. First, have I understood that right? Then I wan't to focus on the most important question: will you stop to warn people who don't violate the username policy? As a renamer, you are the one who is dealing with the rename requests, and if requests based on your warnings get rejected by Rachmat04 because they are not needed it doesn't feel very good to be honest... --TenWhile6 (talk | SWMT) 06:47, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Global rename for Gadir

Hi everyone. I don't have many global activities right now but I can take this permission voluntarily usually to look local requests. First of all, I know that I'm not an admin in any project yet (I know that this is not an obstacle or a necessity), but you can trust me and I don't have any blocks. I have enough experience and I have some permissions in many projects. I know global rename policy and local username policy. Why do I want it so much? Because for a long time, I always especially direct the newcomers who have incorrect names to the local page to be changed their names. I inform and encourage them. But I can't take action because of lack of authority. Currently only one user locally has this permission and this is a bad situation. I'm a candidate and volunteer for this permission in order to help and share this work burden. I was a candidate last year as well and I have improved myself a lot since then. Right now I can just engage with reporting inappropriate names but it isn't enough for me. You all can look at my contributions. I'm active in the project and it seems like more than one of these permissions is needed, and as you all can see, it is needed. Recently the latest request which was waiting to be solved for a long time was done by TenWhile6. I had redirected him to this page for name change a while ago. I'm interested in pages and situations like this: Requested moves, Changing username, Files for upload (third page was created new). I will continue to do my best regardless of the result. Thanks for your all attention! All the best wishes to everyone, Gadir (talk) 20:02, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Let me explain this: I posted a notice about it on the local wiki, in the Village pump. I thought it might be useful. To get their opinions. Best, Gadir (talk) 21:03, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

Question: regarding "I posted a notice about it on the local wiki, in the Village pump." – not again?! --SHB2000 (talk | contribs) 23:14, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hello. Sure no, I didn't do that this time. In that candidacy, I wrote on the message pages of the some users and I know that is was wrong. And this time I did it as said here. I made a clear notice in the Village pump. As it seems this is not an ad. You can check it out here. Did I do something wrong? :/ I just followed the advice. I also explained the valid reason. And I just thought it was important to add this information here. Gadir (talk) 00:14, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. So to clarify, you didn't canvass on azwiki this time? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs) 03:16, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for LLCQ

I'm an editor from China and have been affected by the ban. Due to the restrictions of the Great Firewall, I can now only edit Wikipedia with the help of multiple VPNs (as some of them can be unstable). Now I need permission to edit multiple items such as Wikidata, English, Japanese, etc, thanks, --LLCQ (talk) 04:22, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
