@Pigsonthewing: Thank you so much. I will try to do my best but I know I am not perfect and do some errors. But as we said in France, only those doing nothing never do mistakes  :-D Have a lovely day. All the best to you. Givet (talk) 05:14, 4 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please merge instead of blanking

edit

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the page Q96677657. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks! Bovlb (talk) 21:03, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Bovlb: Thank you so much  . In fact I blanked this page because I created it a few minutes before. The name I used was Steve E. Carpenter but I discovered that this person uses also the name Steven E. Carpenter... with an existing page. Sorry for that. Your solution is perfect and many times I seen some duplicate pages, so I will use your method in the future. This is great. One more time thanks a lot. Have a nice day.   Givet (talk) 06:25, 28 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment

edit

Dear Givet,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits. Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study will start in late January 2022 or early February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes.

If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSees9WzFXR0Vl3mHLkZCaByeFHRrBy51kBca53euq9nt3XWog/viewform?usp=sf_link I will contact you with the link to start the study.

For more information about the study, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards

Text

edit

In French, does the word "texte" include creative works that are not written, such as music and film? The label of full work available at URL (P953) should include all creative works, not just written ones. If "texte" accomplishes that, then fine. Otherwise I would appreciate your suggestion as a French speaker. I used "œuvre" since that is the label on work (Q386724). Thanks! Swpb (talk) 14:37, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Swpb: for sure, you are right, sorry. So, please, could you write "œuvre intégrale disponible sur" (with an "e" letter at the end of "intégrale" because œuvre is feminine gender in French. Thank you so much. Givet (talk) 14:46, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Will do, thanks for your help! Swpb (talk) 14:47, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Swpb: one more time, so sorry, I use this field all the time and be very surprised to see a modification. Have a lovely day. Friendly Givet (talk) 14:50, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Q59509284

edit

Bonsoir @Givet,

Cela me fait penser, doit-on fusionner Q13899367 & Q4780549 ? LD (talk) 11:48, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Givet (talk) 16:32, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
