When it comes to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, there's so much information out there about it, it can be hard for parents and caregivers to wade through it all. So for this episode, we're starting at the beginning asking "What is ADHD?"
Nina, a parent of a child with ADHD, and Dr. Ryan Chan, a psychiatrist and Clinical Director of the ADHD Clinic at BC Children's Hospital, join forces to explore the common myths and misunderstandings, and offer up some helpful strategies for families who are just beginning the journey of supporting a child with ADHD.
GUEST BIOS:
Nina is a mom to an 8 year old boy diagnosed with ADHD. She is an active part of her son's life and dedicates a lot of time volunteering in his school where she also continues to advocate for adequate support for his needs. Nina is continuously educating herself on ADHD and shares her story of everyday life as a parent to a child with ADHD.
Dr. Ryan Chan is a psychiatrist and Clinical Director of the ADHD Clinic at BC Children’s Hospital. Through his work he has supported hundreds of families at different stages along their journey with ADHD.
