The concept of being chased by your other self run pretty well with the theme along with the parkour mechanic. I really dig monochrome games ( all my games are monochrome) so you passed the visuals test for me. I can’t complain about the sound, it was used well. If you could fix the glitches and all that buggy stuff I would be happy to play this game if it was to be released on mobile. Well done!
The game had this kind of calm, relaxing atmosphere to it. The audio was a bit of a problem but I didn't pay much attention to it. Maybe some visual improvements could really take this game places, although the assets were clean looking. I had to force myself to stop playing and do other things. Really addictive game!
When the game started I was quite overwhelmed, the chase was already going on and I kept teleporting and dying unsure what to do. After sometime of trial and error I got the hang of it and the game became very fun really quickly. Perhaps you could explain the tutorial in the game before introducing the game. Art work was really neat and clean and I a lot of fun playing, brilliant!
I'm not even going to ask how you were able to fit so much into a game jam game, that alone is impressive. I mean a whole story? I think I speak for everyone when I say the game was quite fun. I noticed from the beginning that the art was quite clean so bonus points for that. Maybe next time you could make the tutorial comprehensible in a shorter manner. Asides that, great entry!
Unlike the other games I've tried, this game really challenged me in terms of gameplay and I loved that! I personally am a fan of hand drawn art so you really nailed the art style for me. I was thinking maybe a bouncy( ease in and out) effect or animation for when the cat is moving across the screen could add some polish. All the same very fun game!
Everyone has already pointed out what I wanted to say about it being a little difficult and so on but I'm just going to mention what I liked about this entry ( I see you use Construct 2 as well :) ). First of all I like the fact that it was playable on mobile ( Good luck turning into a full release by the way :)
I also liked the use of the cat's other arm to indicate how far the cat could jump. I have a suggestion of making the levels randomly generated but still playable. Anyway it's just a suggestion, great game!
Of all your game I have to say this was the best. The art of the game was cute and nice, the mechanic and level design kept the game fun. The little details like the squash and stretch and particles where a great touch. I had a little issue with controls though they seemed to reset after dying or proceeding to another level and there was this other problem with collisions where the player would fall through the ground after reaching the goal (Solid behaviour disabled itself?). Those little problems of course didn't affect the gameplay for me though. Really fun game!
Really simple but nice game, I like your use of the ZX-spectrum colour palette but perhaps searching for a ZX-spectrum colour palette on lospec.com will make the colours of the game fit quite better. I think letting a player know for the first time which level their in is a great idea but just once would be okay, it got really annoying having to restart a game and getting ready to play when the game pauses for a some seconds just to remind you again of the level you're in. It's all part of the learning process, I'm learning too. Besides these little issues great game
To start with, the 1-bit art style of the game is a personal preference. I really like it! The mix of genres kept the game interesting . The story was well thought of, it went well with the game. The last level was quite tricky after seeing the right path, so I can't argue that the level design was quite good.
The use of a bone as a weapon was good choice since the character was a skeleton. I realized after a while that spam clicking could destroy the bone.
But besides that little issue, GREAT GAME OVERALL!
