[modifica]Hi Vigneron! Happy to see you here. If you need debriefing about Scientia, ask me, I'm doing all the work right now. As you probably noted, the optimal way to do this would be to have all the Indexes in all 4 wikisources (it, en, fr, de), and then transclude all the articles, 1 to 3. Not an easy task, in my opinion. Anyway, feel free to ask anything you want, and thanks for the Unicode tip! --Aubrey McFato 12:14, 19 nov 2011 (CET)
- Ciao bello,
- I see your mail on the wikisource list. So, I decide to try to start (by Index:Scientia - Vol. X.djvu, I’m a freaky outsider : I started by the end). Did I do the thing right ?
- Did you contact the others wikisources (I’m thinking to the german speaking wikisource and its bizarre rules).
- For Unicode, feel free to ask whatever you want. On the french speaking wikisource, there is a « Unicode bar » : fr:Wikisource:Glyphes & caractères/Question.

Rights
[modifica]Hi VIGNERON. Well, I don't know about France, but in Italy there is an exception regarding journals: they can be intended as a "collective work", so the rights are counted from the publication date (is 70+1). At least, my boss told me that (they contacted a lawyer for the original digitization). This is why I want to publish the works just behind 1923, because so we stay both under the Italian and US law. --Aubrey McFato 18:40, 20 nov 2011 (CET)
- There something like in France too. But in France, it seems to be a little different : there a distinction into two types of collective works : « œuvre collective » and « œuvre de collaboration » (both define in the CPI, L113-2 and a lot of others legal and juridic texts).
- Basically : when you know who write what (each part of the text is signed or attributer to someone), it a collaboration work. When all the authors write alltogether (you don't exactly who wrote what), it's a collective work. In the second case, the text is in PD after 70 years (+1 to fall at the 1rst of Januray). But in the first case, each rights remains to the author (author lifespan + 70 + 1). It's not allways as clear as I just explein you. It seems (but I'm not a lawyer) that these text are not DP in France, but since it was published in Italia, there should be no problem.
- Nonetheless, for the file on Commons, I think the PD-70 template is more appropriate than the PD-75, no ? (I was thinking there is a more accurate template on Commons, but I can’t find anything except Commons:template:PD-collective anonymous work which doesn't fit precisely with our need. There is PD-Italy too but it doesn't fit at all. I’ll check further informations and keep you informed)

Hi mate! Happy to see you in these lands. Work on Scientia proceeds (slowly, but proceeds). In this moment utente:Alex Brollo is converting some other files in djvu (he already got FR11, so we'll have good OCR and good djvu). I'm a bit stuck in the way to go, apart from transcrbing single pages and articles. There are at least two things which need to be discussed a little:
- interwiki transclusion: I think it would be great to have a bot or a simple script which we can use to put templates in other wikis, automatically, to transclude article in other languages. If I transcribe an article in Italian, then I have to put the same template in three different wikisource (if all of them have the Index). That should be automatic, in some way.
- data: I feel we are doing a good job, but as always in wiki we are reinventing the wheel. All Scientia has been analyzed, and we have all the articles indexed. For example, this is the list of articles by Federigo Enriques: http://serials.cib.unibo.it/cgi-ser/start/it/spogli/ds-s.tcl .
I can access those data (well, I can ask the person who has access to the database and which can export me some lists, but I still have to figure out what to do with the data, and how to that. For example, it would be amazing to have somhow the complete list of authors in Scientia, and then have a bot to create the pages (we can probably figure out much of the bio data needed), or at least have a bot to put the Interproject template on Wikipedia... I don't know, there are many things we could do, and we should do them :-) If you are familiar with some of this stuff, feel free to suggest me anything, I need some feedback. And thank you for being interested in the project :-) Aubrey McFato 21:04, 5 dic 2011 (CET)
- I totally agree with the need of the automatization of the interwiki transclusion or at least semi-automatization. I feel I’m adding iwpage everywhere all the time. Sadly, I’ve not even the start of an idea how to do it…
- For the data aspect, I don’t know, I hope we do the thing better or at least differently, but I’m not so sure. BTW, your link doesn’t seem to works.
- Create all the autore pages is a really good idea. I try to contact people on the french wikipedia to help to improve the articles (but the sources seems to be too old to be used except for quotations).

- True, but look ah these: [1 http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federigo_Enriques] and [2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federigo_Enriques]. At least those list add a complete bibliography of readable articles for important scientists, and I feel this is importnt. Of couse, when we'll have all Scientia on Wikisource, we'll change links :-) --Aubrey McFato 10:21, 6 dic 2011 (CET)
