🏆 ✨ 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 ... ✈️🦈 We are deeply honored to be among the distinguished recipients of the 67th Annual Laureate Awards by Aviation Week Network! Being recognized for AeroSHARK is a proud moment for us! AeroSHARK, co-developed by Lufthansa Technik and BASF Coatings, is an adhesive riblet film inspired by sharkskin. By reducing drag, it significantly cuts fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions ‒ by up to 1% per aircraft. This proven “quick win” solution allows airlines to immediately cut fuel burn and emissions with a single, relatively simple modification to their aircraft. We are happy to see more and more airlines around the world embracing our innovative sharkskin technology. As we eagerly await the Grand Laureates announcement in March, we’re keeping our fins crossed. The competition is fierce ‒ truly a “shark tank”, with so many extraordinary candidates in the running. But hey, isn’t a shark tank the perfect place for AeroSHARK to shine? 😉 Congratulations to all the honorees who are shaping our industry! #FirstMoverInAviation #MakeChangeFly Image Copyright: BASF

We’ve teamed up with avianca, a leading Latin American carrier, to provide maintenance support for the CFM International (CFM) LEAP-1A engines powering their A320neo fleet. Through this non-exclusive contract, Avianca becomes our first South American customer to benefit from our LEAP-1A services! A true leap forward in our partnership! We will deliver quick-turn services for Avianca’s engines, addressing specific technical issues efficiently and cost-effectively. This approach means faster return-to-service times without the need for a full overhaul, helping minimize downtime and maximize fleet performance and cost-efficiency. “We are very pleased to announce a new agreement with Lufthansa Technik, this time to support the maintenance of the LEAP-1A engines of our A320neo fleet. This is a result of the great teamwork we have achieved. We are very focused on becoming more and more efficient and this agreement will allow us to move forward on that path”, said Francisco Lalinde, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Maintenance at Avianca. ALEJANDRA CASTELLOTE, our Director Sales Latin America, commented: “This agreement with Avianca, our first LEAP-1A quick turn contract in South America, underscores our ability to deliver fast, reliable and cost-effective maintenance solutions. We are excited to support Avianca in maintaining the high performance of their LEAP-1A engines.” #keepyouflying #LEAP

easyJet and our colleagues from Lufthansa Technik Milan have extended their partnership for recurring light base maintenance checks on the airline's massive Airbus #A320family fleet. The extension will see two of easyJet's over 300 aircraft continue to rotate through Milan every night until mid-2027. The agreement will cover jets operated under the Air Operator Certificates of easyJet UK, easyJet Switzerland, and easyJet Austria. The workscope includes so-called phase checks, where larger mandatory check items for easyJet’s A320 family aircraft are divided into a number of smaller but very intensive check items that fit into the regular night stops at Lufthansa Technik Milan. The successful business relationship between the two companies dates back to the maintenance company’s foundation in 2010. Since then, this fruitful cooperation has seen continuous renewals and amendments. #keepyouflying #lufthansatechnik #mroexperts

Together with HENSOLDT, Bombardier Defense and Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces), we today celebrate the 1st flight of #PEGASUS, Germany’s next-generation airborne signals intelligence (#SIGINT) solution. As the first of three aircraft has now officially entered the flight-testing phase, it is moving one step closer to the upcoming work scopes we are proud to take care of at our headquarters in Hamburg. There, our experts are responsible for the systems integration and the regulatory certification of PEGASUS on the overall aircraft level. We have already completed the design activities for the integration of the mission system, the additional civil and military avionics systems as well as the aircraft cabin. The production process of interior parts has also already started to ensure the components’ readiness for immediate installation when the aircraft enters our hangar. “Seeing the first PEGASUS aircraft taking to the skies bearing the Lufthansa Technik Defense logo fills me with pride and also joyful anticipation, as it brings us one decisive step closer to welcoming this aircraft back at our site,” says Michael von Puttkamer, our Vice President Special Aircraft Services. “I’d like to congratulate and thank the outstanding Bombardier Defense team for their great performance in reaching this important project milestone, and I look forward to the upcoming flight test activities as well as the ongoing cooperation with HENSOLDT in the subsequent integration and certification of their highly sophisticated signals intelligence system.” #keepyouflying #lufthansatechnikdefense (Video copyright: Bombardier)

One day before the trade show #MROEurope opens its doors in #Barcelona, we already have good news to announce: We are partnering with KM Malta Airlines for CFM LEAP services. With the newly founded national airline of the Maltese Islands, we welcome another customer for LEAP-1A services. Over the next 9.5 years, Lufthansa Technik will perform the repair and overhaul of this engine type operated by the Maltese airline on its Airbus A320neo fleet. Our teams are currently undertaking two quick turns for KM Malta Airlines. Since the LEAP-1A engines are still at the beginning of their life cycle and most do not yet require an overhaul, so-called quick turns are performed. These shop visits address specific technical reasons for early removals, for example by changing the stage 1 blades or shrouds of the high-pressure turbine. This allows the engine to be returned to the aircraft quickly, thereby maintaining its operation until the scheduled overhaul. “We are excited to enter into this long-term partnership with Lufthansa Technik, a trusted name in aviation maintenance,” said Zeljko Pejovic, Director of Technical Operations at KM Malta Airlines. “Their expertise with LEAP-1A engines ensures not only the safety and reliability of our fleet but also supports our commitment to operational excellence. Together, we look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship that will help us maintain the highest standards of safety for our passengers.” Kai Roepke, our Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Europe, Middle East, and Africa, stated: “Thanks to KM Malta Airlines for choosing us as their trusted partner for LEAP-1A engine repairs and overhauls. As the first MRO provider worldwide, we not only hold the CFM Branded Service Agreement for both the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, but we have also built extensive experience with these engines over the past years, from which KM Malta Airlines will benefit.” Lufthansa Technik has already completed more than 60 LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B events, including the world’s first Performance Restoration of a LEAP-1A engine. #LufthansaTechnik #keepyouflying #MROexperts

Ready for the Reverse Bleed System (RBS) Installation on the CFM LEAP-1A! We are currently performing the very first RBS retrofit on a CFM LEAP-1A engine for our trusted customer from Faroe: Atlantic Airways! For over ten years, we have enjoyed a strong partnership, and our team is currently outfitting their first LEAP-1A engine with the new RBS modification during a scheduled Quick-Turn in our Hamburg shop. This advanced system, introduced by CFM International (CFM) earlier this year, marks a great step forward in engine performance. It significantly reduces the risk of Fuel Nozzle Coking - resulting in fewer fuel nozzle replacements, lower maintenance efforts, and increased operational time for our customers. By implementing this technology on their LEAP-1A engine, we help our customers lower maintenance costs while boosting fleet efficiency and reliability. We have already completed more than 60 CFM LEAP-1A and -1B events including the worldwide first PRSV of a LEAP-1A engine. As the world’s first independent MRO provider to sign a CFM Branded Service Agreement (CBSA) for both LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, we deliver comprehensive in-shop and on-wing solutions. More RBS installations are already planned for the upcoming year. #LufthansaTechnik #MROexperts #CFMLEAP #keepyouflying

"In Search of Good Design" – The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious design competitions, celebrating excellence in design and business. Last week, the official award ceremony took place in Singapore, where we were honored with two awards: Our VIP design concept, CelestialSTAR for the BBJ 777-9, received recognition in the Product Design category. CelestialSTAR is a luxury VIP and government cabin concept for the BBJ 777-9, emphasizing versatility and multifunctionality. It combines cutting-edge features with maximized space and comfort, while beautifully blending traditional elements of Middle Eastern cultural heritage with a modern twist. Meet our Aircraft Interior Architect, Tim Callies, and discover what inspires him and his colleagues in their innovative work. This BBJ 777-9 cabin design was the first of its kind to be developed using actual data from the aircraft, provided by Boeing. This ensures the feasibility of the design, as the dimensions and space shown are 100% accurate. We continue to strengthen our long-term partnership with Philippine Airlines: The Philippines’ flag carrier and Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen Co., Ltd. signed an Airframe Related Components services contract for Airbus A321ceo nacelles. The agreement includes maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) as well as spare unit support for the V2500 engine’s inlet cowling. This new collaboration between Lufthansa Technik’s subsidiary in China and the Manila-based airline is scheduled to begin servicing by the end of this year. Philippine Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have been collaborating in various MRO areas for over two decades. Earlier this year, the airline chose to renew its partnership with us in Engine Maintenance Services. This renewal complements the existing agreements for Total Component Support (TCS) for PAL’s Boeing 777 fleet, along with Base Maintenance Services provided by Lufthansa Technik Philippines. Additionally, Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen, specializing in advanced repairs of composite and bonded materials used in aircraft structures, and Philippine Airlines are already collaborating on component repairs. “We are delighted to announce our new collaboration with Lufthansa Technik on Airframe Related Components. This partnership will not only benefit Philippine Airlines by ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet, but also strengthens the relationship between the two companies,” said Alvin Kendrich O. Limqueco, Philippine Airlines’ Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer. Jens Michel, LL.M. (VUW), our Vice President Sales North East Asia at Lufthansa Technik, stated: “Thanks to Philippine Airlines for continuing to entrust us with your business. We are always committed to providing outstanding services and excited to further strengthen our successful partnership with Philippine Airlines through this collaboration.” #LufthansaTechnik #MROexperts #keepyouflying

First eTLB customer in #APAC 👏: VietJet Air introduces AVIATAR’s electronic Technical Logbook (eTLB) into its technical operations for its growing fleet of Airbus A320/A321 and A330 aircraft. The operator has obtained the CAAV (Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam) approval for the use of the eTLB. VietJetAir is the first airline in the APAC region introducing the eTLB. The rollout has been satisfactory, with the airline benefitting from AVIATAR’s digital solution for its cockpit and maintenance crews allowing a reduction in manual efforts through a seamless and intuitive interface. Mr Le Anh Huy, Head of MOC at VietJet Air, said: “With the implementation of AVIATAR's Technical Logbook, we are replacing the manual and paper-based process of capturing technical issues in-flight and on the ground. Based on the close cooperation with the AVIATAR team, we are convinced that the solution will not only improve communication between our crews and Tech Ops but also increase our overall maintenance efficiency.” Frank Martens, our Senior Director Sales and Customer Development of Digital Fleet Services: “I would like to thank VietJet Air for their great trust in our services and look forward to continuing our trustful cooperation.” #AVIATAR's electronic Technical Logbook offers pre-filled text blocks and automated input masks that capture technical issues of the aircraft during flight and on ground. It therefore replaces time-consuming manual entries into paper books and improves data quality as well as transparency. #keepyouflying #LufthansaTechnik #digitalMRO #avMRO
