Adrián is a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) for the UCLA Center for Healthier Children Families & Communities (CHCFC) and supports ongoing NIH grant efforts for CHCFC research projects. He was born and raised in Azusa, CA, USA (Gabrielino/Tongva territory) with mixed Indigenous Mexican roots (Guachichil/Nahua) in Jalisco, Mexico. He is a dual-degree Master of Social Welfare/ Master of Public Health (MSW/MPH) student at UCLA. Adrián completed his Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare and Public Policy at UC Berkeley in 2017. Prior to UCLA, Adrián was a case manager with the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) USC UCEDD Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine (DAYAM). Adrián’s academic perspective is informed by his lived experiences and deep desire to support the healthy development of children, families, and communities.
