Funny. In fact .markdown is the "official" extension and .md is technically an invalid alias that truly corresponds to Modula 2 🤦🏻 i.e. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/23279292/how-to-make-vim-understand-that-md-files-contain-markdown-code-and-not-modula
