Declare the current version to be v2.2

Declare the current version of the library to be `v2.1`.

This is somewhat arbitrary, as I've been adding small functions here and there for a few years, but I intend to begin work on a `v3.0` with a modest set of breaking changes, and I want to be clear which version should be used if backward compatibility is needed.
