You can fix typos and provide more information. If you think that at least one person would not sign the changed petition, then that is a sure sign of a too big a change.

    HTML is recommended if you want to save the signatures using your browser’s Print to PDF feature.
  6. Select the columns you want to include.
  7. Optional: Include the petition content
    To include the full petition content (text and images) above the signatures list:
    • Select HTML as the output format.
    • Click the option “Add the full petition content above the signatures list”.
    This option is available only for HTML output and is not included in CSV (Excel) exports.
  8. Accept data protection terms and generate or download the file.

Most common problem
You are logged in using the wrong email address. Make sure you are logged in with the same email address that was used to create the petition.

When you create a petition, you are asked to decide how you will use signatories’ personal data. If you chose the purpose ‘To keep the signatory up to date on the progress of the petition by sending emails’, then we have already requested consent from signatories for sending them emails about the progress of the petition. In this case, publishing an announcement will automatically send an email notification to all signatories who have given consent for this.

Is it possible to send emails to the signatories without consent?

It may still be possible to contact signatories based on your legitimate interest as the data controller. However, under GDPR you must first carry out a balancing test to ensure that your interest in contacting signatories does not override their rights and expectations.

Important data protection considerations

For GDPR reasons, we strongly recommend using a professional email system. Sending emails manually from a personal account is risky. If you forget to use the BCC field even once, all recipients could see each other’s email addresses. That would count as a data breach under GDPR, which could lead to complaints from signatories, an investigation by the data protection authority, possible fines, and loss of trust in your petition.

At the moment, we do not provide a feature to send emails to signatories without their consent.

Legal background

We have asked the permission for the author of the petition to hand over the information the signatories provide when they sign a petition to the decision-makers.

Scenarios when it is legal to transfer the petition to another user?

  • There are no signatories yet.
  • There is a permission from all the signatories.
  • This another person has been mentioned as one of the authors in the petition page from the beginning.
  • The petition has been created under an organization and this person is a worker or a member of this organization. The name of the organization has been mentioned in the petition page from the beginning.

It is not possible.

It would require a permission and we have not asked permission from the signatories for that when they have signed a petition.

We recommend closing one of the petitions and linking to the another petition or handing over the signatures of the both petitions at the same time to the decision-maker.
