From Old Swedish tisdagher, from an East Norse variant *tísdagr of Old Norse týsdagr, from Proto-West Germanic *Tīwas dag (the rounding of the *-ī- to -ý- due to the following -w- is a West Norse development), a calque of Latin dies Martis.
