[edit]From dialectal Yiddish רווח (reyvakh, reyvekh, “racket, din, tumult, hubbub”), from standard Yiddish רווח (revekh, “benefit, income, profit”), from Hebrew רֶוַח (rɛwaḥ, “derogation, mitigation”).
