I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the beer parlour or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --Connel MacKenzie T C 00:10, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your text:

"Uncertain, but possibly young child's pronunciation of thanks."

can be subsumed within:

"Perhaps from the hard-T Irish pronunciation of thanks or from Scandinavian takk/tack?"

which is already part of the proposed-but-uncertain {{rfe}} tag. Rather than adding an equally unsourced/unjustified etym you might consider accessing an etym resource? You may be right, but you are no more-supported (and less specific) than what is already there. - Amgine/ t·e 00:28, 7 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I have added a source. Nurg (talk) 01:18, 7 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Have to admit that startled me enough to go to OED. Worst OED etym I have seen. Sorry I doubted. - Amgine/ t·e 02:11, 7 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
