- The 5th letter of Armenian alphabet, called եչ (ečʻ). Transliterated as e. Represents an open-mid front unrounded vowel: [ɛ] (but [jɛ] word-initially)
- A letter used in Armenian dialectology. Represents the diphthong [i͡e]. Transliterated as ie.

- A letter of the Armeno-Turkish script, named եէչ (yeç). Represents palatal approximant: [j]. Transliterated as y.
Usage notes
[edit]This letter is only used at the beginning of a word or after a consonant. After a vowel, յ (y) is usually used. Some texts also use ե between vowels. May also be used as a vowel in Armenian loans, in which case it is [e] (or [je] at the beginning of a word) and appropriately transliterated e (or ye).
