[edit]Probably from kaljak which in turn could be cognate with Polish kieł (“tusk, fang”) and Czech kel (“tusk”), or from klop which in turn could be cognate with Russian клоп (klop, “bug, bedbug”) and Slovene klop (“tick”). All are probably cognates and descended from Proto-Slavic *kъlopъ.[1][2]
