Merger

[edit]
Based on the maps, the city seems to have exactly the same shape as the former province, so this should just become a redirect. Does the static map of Sardinia need to be edited, or is the Metropolitan City of Cagliari equivalent to a province, rather than being part of Sud Sardegna? Sardinia probably needs a new static map, FWIW. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 09:28, 14 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I was the one who proposed the merger. Since there are many places in the Metropolitan City that may have their own tourist attractions (e.g. Selargius), it might be better to simply rename the article to "Metropolitan Cagliari" and list those places there. No objection, but what do you think about my question about the static map of Sardinia? Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:20, 21 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
The map depicts the current situation, after the province was abolished. The province borders don't need to be updated (though the map itself could be redone to meet Wikivoyage standards). JsfasdF252 (talk) 03:58, 22 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Let's redirect this for now to Cagliari, and note that the article includes the Metropolitan region. If, at a later date, someone does add sites worth listing in the surrounding towns, they can be broken out then. Wikivoyage policy is to not create regional structures until they are needed. As neither this article nor the Italian Wikivoyage article is overloaded with sites in the Metropolitan area, it is premature to have that article. Ground Zero (talk) 12:50, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
