Appearance

[edit]

I'm not a fan of its appearance in non-Page namespaces; I think it is simultaneously too subtle yet too intrusive. May I propose that its output in non-Page namespaces be something like ? Suzukaze-c (talk) 04:42, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

I’d like to see something like this: [Greek characters] in the main namespace. χchi (talk) 11:15, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Tracking categories

[edit]

@TE(æ)A,ea.: To clarify, the reason I want to add an override for the tracking categories is that ifexist is an expensive parser function, and if a page makes heavy use of {{language characters}} or its derivatives, it can easily exceed the template include size (for example, An Ainu–English–Japanese Dictionary/A). My intention is that the parameter for overriding the tracking category be used in calling templates like {{Greek missing}}, where we know that the language is given and the tracking category exists. Why call an expensive parser function when we know we don't need to? —CalendulaAsteraceae (talkcontribs) 05:10, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
