[edit]Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you recently removed content from Matthew Modine without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Hello Doniago,
- It's nice to meet you. My name is Adam Nelson and I am Matthew Modine's representative. You can see this listed under his contacts on his official website here https://www.matthewmodine.com/contact.html. Matthew is also a close friend who married my wife and I. You can see support for this here:
- Twitter (X) Matthew retweeted the Worhousepr tweet: https://twitter.com/workhousepr/status/1770912311957442631
- IMDB: Listed under Trivia Here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1122987/bio/
- This is an important addition to his Personal biography as this story broke yesterday and ours was the first wedding that he served as a minister which is an important part of this worldwide press story: https://nypost.com/2024/03/21/entertainment/millie-bobby-brown-stranger-things-matthew-modine-to-officiate-jake-bongiovi-wedding/
- From the New York Post story above, Matthew quotes: The “Oppenheimer” star revealed he officiated only one other wedding ceremony during the COVID-19 pandemic in upstate New York, which was outside and “beautiful.”
- The wedding story can also be seen in multiple outlets worldwide. Please keep this under his personal biography without removal. Thank you. WorkhouseNYC (talk) 19:17, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- As an editor with a conflict of interest, you should not be editing the article directly. Additionally, if you are being paid to edit, you must declare that per WP:PAID.
- IMDb isn't a reliable source per WP:RS/IMDb, nor is the New York Post per WP:NYPOST. DonIago (talk) 20:38, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- This is ridiculous. You're claiming the NY Post and WORLDWIDE media isn't credible? That's wholly incorrect. As you've already been cited for numerous revision issues with other users on this platform, please don't have us add to it with the moderators as you deny our client's own input. Additionally, how is an official representative for talent considered a conflict of interest? This entire platform of talent's editorial is managed by representation. In this case, it's in concert directly with our client. We are NOT being paid to edit it. Do not remove the addition again. WorkhouseNYC (talk) 20:41, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
- If you want to take it up with the admins, go right ahead. In the meantime I recommend you review WP:3RR, as you're now edit-warring on an article where you have a conflict of interest.
- Otherwise, given that you've now threatened me with admin action, I'm done engaging in this conversation with you. DonIago (talk) 01:48, 23 March 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, WorkhouseNYC. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Matthew Modine, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 01:47, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
