Reception

[edit]

Nice work on reception. Two notes:

In other words, put the period after the quote, not before it. DareshMohan (talk) 23:39, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DareshMohan: like could you give an example for this? Like just imagine if Dinamalar gives 3 out of 5 stars for 2011 film Markandeyan then how will you write it as you said? Theoder2055 (talk) 04:21, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Theoder2055: A critic from Dinamalar gave the film a rating of three out of five stars.
Ok thanks. Theoder2055 (talk) 04:41, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

SPI

[edit]

Hi - you made these two edits to an archived sockpuppet investigation. Archived investigations should not be edited by anyone other than SPI clerks. If you want to report current suspicions, you need to create a new report. I'd advise you to enable WP:TWINKLE on your account, and use that to raise the report. You need to navigate to the suspected sockpuppet's userpage, go to the Twinkle drop-down menu, select 'ARV', and then select 'Sockpuppet' from the first option it gives you, and fill in the rest of the boxes. It's pretty straightforward - much easier than doing it manually. Girth Summit (blether) 19:38, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Girth Summit: I think so the user കരിപ്പോട്ടി ‎is already blocked as a sockpuppet of Eswaran Naveen so I feel it’s not necessary to report right now. You also saw his edits right same kind of reply in his talk page. But anyways thanks for the information. Theoder2055 (talk) 07:18, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you have anything to add at this SPI, please do.--The Doom Patrol (talk) 09:00, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dhamaka film poster

[edit]

Hey, I've recently uploaded a poster which depicts the main characters and release date as well

Previous one was like 2 days to go which is highlighted more than the title of the film. Which doesn't make any sense for the term poster.

Check other telugu film posters or any other languages as well. Title will be given more preference than anything.

Thanks NIKE 01 (talk) 03:49, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@NIKE 01: the problem is that we do not add posters which are seemed to be inappropriate. Theoder2055 (talk) 11:32, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Suriya 42

[edit]

Hi. I noticed that you redirected the page Draft:Suriya 42 to Siva (director). I was working on the draft and was about to add citations but you moved it. Please don't clear it again. The filming has already started. If you want to help expand the draft, you are very welcome to. Thank you. - CallistoR7 (talk) 07:02, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@CallistoR7: Where is the source? I can’t see it. Theoder2055 (talk) 07:02, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Removing box office

[edit]

Hello, Theoder2055. It's not clear why you have been removing box office section entirely (diff [1], [2]) despite having sources.

MOS:FILMBOXOFFICE requires us to provide "Provide a summary of the film's commercial performance" and "This information can be included under the release section (see above), the reception section, or if sufficient coverage exists, it is recommended that this information is placed in a "Box office" or "Theatrical run" section."

Therefore, your edits here do not seem to comply with the policy. On contrary, more info should be added on that instead of removing it to improve the encylopeadia. Thanks! -- Ab207 (talk) 16:21, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Ab207: you may check the edit summary of the page. Sorry by mistake it got accidentally got removed. I was about to remove the information which was cited with a source that was unreliable as per WP:ICTFSOURCES. It’s better to have updated the box office section for other Tamil films like Varisu and Thunivu also. They also performed well crossing 250 crores and 195 crore. Theoder2055 (talk) 18:19, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 films

[edit]

Please note that only released films should be added to the page at present, especially in light of poorly sourced future release dates. As you may know, release dates in Tamil cinema shift on almost a daily basis. Please consider this a warning - your last revert without discussion (and the removal of films which have actually released) was unacceptable and unencyclopaedic. Neutral Fan (talk) 13:37, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Neutral Fan: There is no rule like that for only released films to be there. Please check other language films like List of Telugu films of 2023 and List of Hindi films of 2023. If the release date of that particular film is postponed then it can be removed. But there are also some films in which release date is confirmed. Why you need to remove them? There is nothing to warn me in this. Please discuss with other editors also like Ab207 and SP013 and then decide whether to remove. Let’s see what those editors say about this. What does those editors say about this? Theoder2055 (talk) 15:48, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Ab207: and @SP013: But at least what I was about to say is that Tamil films in which release dates are confirmed officially can be added right? Vaathi is officially confirmed to be released on Feburary 17 and also Run Baby Run is also officially confirmed to release on 3 Feb as well as Jailer is also scheduled for release on 14 April. Neutral Fan only problem is that for according to you only released films should be added but other editors didn’t say anything about this. Please note that Wikipedia is not a place for what you want the article to be. That means in the List of Telugu films of 2023 and List of Hindi films of 2023 only released films should be added right but it’s not like that. Anyways that doesn’t matter but release dates of those films which are officially confirmed they can be there in the page right? Theoder2055 (talk) 15:54, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, if there's an official confirmation, it should be added. However, speculations like "makers are looking to release for Pongal," can be avoided.
At the same time, editors should not judge whether the said official date is possible or not. That's not our job. Hope this helps -- Ab207 (talk) 06:02, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Ab207: But only problem is that Neutral Fan is also removing those films in which release date are officially confirmed. There are films of 2023 in which release dates are officially confirmed. I am not going to add them until majority of the editors like @Kailash29792: and @DareshMohan: say regarding this. Some of these films which are officially confirmed include:
  • Run Baby Run
  • Vaathi (also shot in Telugu as Sir)
  • Borrder
  • Jailer
  • Pathu Thala
  • Ponniyin Selvan: II

What about these films why they can’t be added in List of Tamil films of 2023? Sometimes their release dates gets postponed not most of the times. If the release date of that either one of the films gets postponed then those particular films only can be removed right why every other films are removed which are yet to release? Theoder2055 (talk) 08:19, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List of Telugu films of 2023 and List of Hindi films of 2023 are terrible examples. If you see the corresponding 2022 pages, it becomes clear that only one-third of films are included (only films with notable actors). The Tamil pages have always been more comprehensive - detailing every weekly release, regardless of the budget. You can add a second title on the page as "Scheduled films", like how "Released films" are there, and list only confirmed projects e.g. PS2 and Jailer. The worry is that it will eventually turn into something uncontainable like this User:Neutral Fan/sandbox (Upcoming films). This is a list which I had to be pulled out of the main page a few years ago. Neutral Fan (talk) 09:39, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that truly but we will wait for other editors also to say about this. Theoder2055 (talk) 15:07, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
