Spoilers

[edit]

I see you've run afoul of the small number of editors devoted to removing each and every spoiler tag on Wikipedia. They're disproportionately composed of admins, and have a habit of banning people who interfere with their objective, so don't get drawn into edit warring with them. However, your perspective on Wikipedia Talk:Spoiler would be welcome.--Nydas(Talk) 16:29, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Croc navbox

Hey,

I like your new navbox for extant crocodylians. Looks really good! Cheers, Mark t young (talk) 08:35, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not on navbox, but still a croc... I don't know if it's a convention among croc specialists (herpetologists? I thought that was just snakes), but it's not in the real world. Caps are gone when I see 'em. TREKphiler hit me ♠ 22:14, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Single list for MGMT

[edit]

Hi. I see you added "The Youth" to Template:MGMT. I know there is a video that was released, but from what I can see there is not even a hint about a single release for "The Youth" from either the band or their record company. Do you have any additional information for a possible "The Youth" single? If you only added that because of the released video, I think it will be more accurate to remove that from the singles list until there is actually a mention of a possible single. MGMT has in the past had music videos made without releasing a single. - AlexTheMartian | Talk 08:33, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any pictures. Bugboy52.4 (talk) 22:57, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. The only species of Mantis that occur in your area are (don't let the names fool you):

  • European Mantis (Mantis religiosa)
  • Chinese Manits (Tenodera aridifolia)
  • Carolina Mantis (Stagmomantis carolina)
I do have a photo, but didn't feel like subjecting Wikipedia to "File:Unidentified Mantid Nymph#308.jpg"... Species occurrence was exactly what I was looking for. Mine looks very similar to a nymph photo on the T. sinensis article. Very interesting how many exotics I assume are native. StevePrutz (talk) 23:11, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:47, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reference for large genome size in frogs

[edit]

Hi!

I see from the edit history of Poikilotherm you are the originator of the information that poikilotherms (particularly frogs) need large genoms due to needing multiple enzymes to function over a wide temperature spectre. Do you have some sort of citable reference for it? I have tried searching through google scolar, but have so far come up empty handed. Petter Bøckman (talk) 22:39, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of History of Chinese Democracy for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article History of Chinese Democracy is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of Chinese Democracy until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Ridernyc (talk) 16:06, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Strange edit to MC Hammer

[edit]

Hello,

Regarding this edit you did to MC Hammer, how did the edit manage to cite the author of a video as (and I quote) \ ' + message["@fromScreenName"] + ' says: \? It had been there for about a year before I noticed it and removed the malformed author name. Anyway, the video is no longer available, so perhaps the reference should be removed. Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)

[edit]

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.

At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).

Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.

If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:33, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Select Survey Invite

[edit]

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Your survey Link: https://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_3gzxjuqJ2MiCTIN&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 12:34, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

very rough notes on a missing article topic that might be in your interest area

[edit]

Hi @Steveprutz! Thought I'd drop you a note, since I've seen your excellent work on other colonial Virginia topics. I noticed today there's no existing article for E.D. Planation/Bellfield yet, despite a bunch of other articles mentioning it. I've started joting down notes/sources at User:Jacobsatterfield/Bellfield Plantation, eventually I'll get around to writing a stub unless you beat me to it... @Jacobsatterfield will look asap. my suggestion is to look on Google books and JSTOR (free with Google) for journal articles StevePrutz (talk) 01:22, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
