Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:HPIM0076.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:HPIM0076.JPG. The copy called Image:HPIM0076.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 19:47, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of National Service Medal (United Kingdom), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.cjmedals.co.uk/showcase/national_service_medal.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:30, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Bentley T-Type.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Bentley T-Type.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 18:16, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
[edit]Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

[edit]Albert Bach, an Austrian general, had also the rank General der Infanterie, so I created a disambig site. Does it make sense to translate the name of the rank into English, is there anything comparable in countries out of the German language area? --Gamsbart (talk) 23:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey there. I've been working on clearing out Wikipedia:Biographical pages with several incompatible dates of birth, and one of the entries on the list was Ken Goodwin, an article which you created. The prose lists his DOB as April 7, but the infobox says April 17. I've tried finding an online ref to confirm one of the two dates, but all I can seem to find is Wikipedia mirrors. Think you can help me out? --Cryptic C62 · Talk 02:33, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Re. the new article Wilhelm Oxenius, could you please add some decent refs to it?
After a bit of a search, it looks like there are plenty available, e.g. from Google books.

Speedy deletion nomination of Ilse braun
[edit]A tag has been placed on Ilse braun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. WWGB (talk) 07:25, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Gretl Braun
[edit]A tag has been placed on Gretl Braun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WWGB (talk) 07:30, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit]I have nominated Gretl Braun, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gretl Braun. Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Sealman! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 5 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 139 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Martin Young (journalist) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Fred Housego - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:32, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Autopatrolled
[edit]Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:
- This permission does not give you any special status or authority
- Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
- You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
- If, for any reason, you decide yo do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
- If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:39, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
Dead links in new articles
[edit]Hi Sealman, for some reason the links to squadron histories on the RAF website in articles you've recently created in articles such as No. 326 Squadron RAF and No. 328 Squadron RAF don't work - the URL leads to a 'page not found' page on the RAF website. Also, adding the 'and more' to links to the RafWeb website seems unnecessary to me, especially as there isn't actually much more on offer there beyond a very brief history of the squadron and some photos. Small portables
[edit]Please, I implore you not to put up photographs that locate small valuable items such a as exquisite icons in churches that are almost certainly not well protected. The mother of a man in Romania, last years burnt an unknown number of valuable artworks, including a Picasso, that her son had stolen. An icon may be more significant to its owners than any Picasso on the planet, but to a thief, it's money on the antique market and almost untraceable. Please use discretion in what you reveal concerning small portable items. On one hand, Wikipedia licenses you to put any factual information that you have access to, in the encyclopedia. On the other hand, the individual value of each such image is very slight (within the context of Wikipedia) compared to the interest of the owner of the object displayed. Amandajm (talk) 06:12, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
- Do you speak Romanian?
- It's an ongoing problem with church articles, including those about churches in the UK. Unfortunately my experiences have made me acutely aware of the problem!
- I have visited Romania, but only for four days, and those were almost entirely taken up with wedding arrangements and festivities. I would have loved to have had time to explore the wonderful little churches, but it wasn't a possibility. Maybe one day! Amandajm (talk) 09:22, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
- If you put in more images, give them all captions, and don't double up. e.g. if you return pics showing structure, then describe what is going on with the joints or the decoration or whatever, so that each caption is informing you of something different. Amandajm (talk) 09:48, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Rohan (clothing)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Rohan (clothing), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 21:41, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

The article Ray Mayhew has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unsourced BLP
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JBH (talk) 00:38, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. Speedy deletion nomination of Medical Love Song
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Medical Love Song, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. The article Jaci Stephen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No evidence of notability. Apart from the present article being sourced to a self-description and a dead link, a WP:BEFORE shows almost zero biographical coverage about the subject - just bylines of articles by the subject, and most of those in deprecated source (hence not usable for notability) the Daily Mail. Is there any decent coverage of the subject elsewhere?
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. David Gerard (talk) 16:05, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
