Full instructions for paid editors

[edit]
Information icon

Hello Saad Ahmed2983. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Saad Ahmed2983. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Saad Ahmed2983|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:49, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • You seem to be attempting to add the paid editing disclosure to the article page instead of following the instructions provided above. Please note that even when you do fully disclose your paid editing, you still will not be allowed to add material to the article that is promotional in nature and are strongly encouraged to use the article talk page to suggest edits as opposed to editing the article directly.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:49, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Elexis Ansley

[edit]

Hello Saad Ahmed2983,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Elexis Ansley for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Meatsgains(talk) 02:37, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Meatsgains,

Can you guide tell me that what should be signifant enough for her page to not be deleted?. How should the article clearly say that it is important enough not to be deleted?

Thanks

Saad Ahmed2983

I'll step in to reply here. Saad, the criteria for inclusion for musicians are spelled out at WP:MUSIC, and for biographies in general at WP:BIO. In short, the subject of the article should have been the topic of multiple instances of significant coverage in independent media. Newspaper or magazine articles, television news or profile segments, major websites (i.e. websites with editorial staff, not just your neighbor's blog), etc. Anything published by the subject themselves (their Facebook page, their soundcloud page, etc.) doesn't count. "Unlinked Corp" - COI

[edit]

Could you clarify what "Unlinked Corp." is and how it relates to OANN? Snooganssnoogans (talk) 13:19, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your question. I am working as an indirect contractor or freelancer for Unlinked Corp. As per WP:COI and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Paid contribution disclosure policy RfC 1, I had included a statement in my RFC request and you may also find my full disclosure on my user page Saad Ahmed2983 (talk) 13:37, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm trying to find info on Unlinked Corp but I can't. What is Unlinked Corp's relationship to OANN? Were you hired specifically to alter the OANN page? Snooganssnoogans (talk) 13:50, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Could you answer these questions? Snooganssnoogans (talk) 00:57, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You need to answer these questions promptly. -- BullRangifer (talk) PingMe 04:47, 22 February 2019 (UTC),[reply]

Hello, Unlinked Corp is an American Consultancy Firm and provides a wide range of services to many industries, it is a private firm and has many employees. - Unlinked Corp is an independent firm and not related with OANN. I was not hired specifically for OAN's wikipedia page, as mentioned, all of my paid wikipedia jobs are done via client request. Please let me know if you have more questions, I will try answering them to the best of ability. Thanks Saad Ahmed2983 (talk) 11:10, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What is the URL for their website? -- BullRangifer (talk) PingMe 06:56, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have disclosed my coi and my employer as per As per WP:COI and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Paid contribution disclosure policy RfC 1 sharing my employers website is not part of the coi disclosure Saad Ahmed2983 (talk) 08:31, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm having trouble uncovering whether they even exist. Just need verification that you're even telling the truth. -- BullRangifer (talk) PingMe 23:00, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'd ordinarily give Saad the benefit of the doubt, but in this situation I'm as baffled as BullRangifer. Corporations must be registered in all 50 U.S. states and most or all civilized countries, and those corporate registrations can be found on the web, through either government or third-party websites. I have researched hundreds of corporations and this is the first time ever I could find absolutely nothing. It's possible "Unlinked Corp" is a sole proprietorship or other unregistered type of entity, but then its owners should be aware that it's illegal in many places to purport to do business as a corporation when in fact you do not. R2 (bleep) 16:51, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I had asked my employer these questions, they said that Unlinked Corp is a registered private company and do not require a website at this point. I have done a lot of business with this company and have communicated with a working hierarchy, however, this is my personal experience. I will also forward your comments to my employer and hopefully find a solution because these are legitimate concerns. Saad Ahmed2983 (talk) 17:41, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Good. Keep us informed, because we all need to know the nature of this company. Its level of secrecy raises suspicions and questions, such as: Is it a political or spy agency which needs to fly under the radar? The Russian election interference used such "agencies" and websites, set up before the election, which Russian intelligence then used to make the actions appear to be the work of Americans. Many think that all the Russian interference came from Russia or Macedonia, but a lot of it came from Russian agents working inside America. Are they trying to influence Wikipedia? I'm pretty sure you'd like to know the nature of your employer. -- BullRangifer (talk) PingMe 02:06, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Full compliance with WP:PAID

[edit]

Hello Saad Ahmed2983. I noted from your talk page that you occasionally edit Wikipedia for compensation, and have described yourself as a freelancer in the past. This is allowed by Wikipedia policy, and you have thusfar done a good job disclosing your connections. However, note that on your userpage you must provide links to any and all off-wiki sites on which you advertise Wikipedia editing services, per Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. Please make the necessary links at your earliest possible convenience. SamHolt6 (talk) 14:40, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Saad Ahmed2983: so you don't, say, advertise services on sites like Upwork or Freelancer.com? You noted above you worked as an indirect contractor for Unlinked Corp.--SamHolt6 (talk) 00:44, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Robert McClenon was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: It is not entirely clear whether this is about a company or a product, but this draft does not satisfy either corporate notability or product notability.
