Proposing merging Murano glass/ Venetian glass
[edit]Dear Punty Jon. I see that you recently voiced interest in merging Murano glass/ Venetian glass. A merge proposal has been opened at Talk:Murano glass. Thank you for your valued input. Apologies for the earlier edit, that was for the Venetian glass talk page. Regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 20:53, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

Murano glass
[edit]Hello Punty Jon. As information, I have redone the Murano glass page with plenty of footnotes and (hopefully) better writing. I don't care about Murano glass vs. Venetian glass—either choice is fine with me. Your user page indicates that you are a collector of glass. My "collection" consists of a bowl from Murano, an early 1900s jar from Sneath Glass Company, and some engraved stemware my relatives claim was made by Fostoria. I am visiting the Corning Glass Museum in a few days—have you been there and is there anything special I should see? TwoScars (talk) 13:05, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
Murano Glass Reply
[edit]Hi, TwoScars. Thanks for your work on Murano glass. Yes, I am a collector of contemporary glass art, primarily one-of-a-kind blown and cast objects. You will enjoy CMOG. I cannot help much in the way of what to see in all the historical sections (many of which are fascinating); the Heineman collection of contemporary glass is a must-see in my view. Let me know what you enjoyed most after your visit. -Punty Jon- Punty Jon (talk) 16:37, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
- Spent 3 or 4 hours at CMOG and saw just about everything. Saw the Heineman collection—my wife liked the Toso chess set and knew of the artist David Chihuly. I'm more into the history, glass companies, and how it was made. I'm now convinced that Venetian glass and Murano glass should be combined into Venetian glass with a redirect for Murano glass. CMOG rarely mentioned Murano—everything was Venetian or Venice. TwoScars (talk) 18:52, 26 October 2018 (UTC)
