Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Omarghanim! Your additions to Draft:Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care Group (JBDS-IP) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. CC-by-NC 4.0 is not a compatible license. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 00:15, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback. Will edit accordingly. Omarghanim (talk) 08:38, 4 March 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Diabetes UK, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The source you added was a primary source, and not in the correct format. Please be careful to make neutral statements, too. Tacyarg (talk) 01:33, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the note. Will correct. Omarghanim (talk) 06:54, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
tag from Draft:Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care Group, which you proposed for deletion. Drafts cannot be deleted using the WP:PROD process. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think this draft should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}}
back to the draft. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion; however, first please read Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion#Before nominating a page for deletion to see the guidelines. Thanks! TartarTorte 18:24, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ghanim Alsheikh
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Ghanim Alsheikh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - I don’t understand why the request for speedy deletion. The page was created to complement pages related to medical education in Iraq, an area not highlighted in Wikipedia. Omarghanim (talk) 10:39, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Your email
[edit]You did not indicate which article you were emailing about, but I presume it's Ghanim Alsheikh. As a contested PROD it can be restored without question, which I have done. But I'm also flagging for @Alexandermcnabb in the event they want to renominate it as consensus was that the subject is not notable. Do you have a connection here that you need to disclose? I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hello, Omarghanim. Thank you for your work on Association of British Clinical Diabetologists. User:Oaktree b, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
There are other sources in medical journals that might be useful to expand the article. I've noticed some in Pubmed from the NIH that would be helpful. We only have one source used, so the article needs to be expanded with further sourcing. Please message me if you need assistance with a Pubmed search.

Deletion discussion about Ghanim Alsheikh
[edit]Hello Omarghanim, I thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ghanim Alsheikh (2nd nomination).
