Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The Show preview button is right next to the Publish changes button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. - Sumanuil (talk) 23:19, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Diego Valoyes and others

[edit]

Please do NOT use the caption "Diego Valoyes Portrait" again. Write a real caption. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 13:57, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Captions, captions, captions

[edit]

When adding a standalone image, like you did in this edit, please add a meaningful caption that provides context. The year the image was taken, what the subject is doing, etc. For the Ernst Krause image, an example of a caption is "Krause in 1938 during his German Expedition to Tibet." Based on the discussions above, you may may be blocked and disqualified from WPWP if this continues. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 06:20, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Majid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

[edit]

You added a wrong photo, it is of his father, so added it to the article stating this fact. Today you again inserted the same and incorrect photo. You may check the article and the person before inserting the photos to the articles, thank you, Egeymi (talk) 09:41, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ho! Thank you for the correction. Olatunbosun opeyemi David (talk) 09:58, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Last warning

[edit]

You have been re-inserting multiple bad images that were previously inserted by yourself or others and reverted. Among other things, you re-inserted this, which clearly was an image of a different person than the article subject. In other cases, you duplicated an image that was already in the article [1]. You really must stop doing this.

  • Before you add any image to any article, you must check the article's edit history to see if the same edit was done before. If somebody reverted the image out of the article, don't insert it again.
  • Of course, you also must look at the page before you edit it. If the image is already there, don't re-add it.
  • In general, please stop adding imaginary, non-contemporary depictions of historic personalities. They are usually not wanted on Wikipedia (see WP:PORTRAIT). The competition you're taking part in is only meant for photographs anyway, so there's really no point in adding those. Independently of the contest, if you haven't investigated when and how those images were created and aren't willing to provide an informative caption explaining them, don't insert them.

August 2021

[edit]

You have done it again. Here and here you re-added images that were already on the page. Here you added an image of the wrong person (that's not Bette Ford, that's Bette Davis next to a Ford car).

I have blocked you for the remainder of the #wpwp contest period, and will ask for you to be disqualified from the contest. Fut.Perf. 07:42, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Admin, I'm really sorry for uploading a wrong picture, I now understand better what my roles are as a wikipedians. I will really appreciate if my account is unblocked so I continue editing. Thanks in advance Olatunbosun opeyemi David (talk) 12:07, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This is not convincing. What was the problem with the pictures you were uploading? How will you ensure you only upload appropriate pictures from now on? Yamla (talk) 14:02, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Poor sourcing

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for contributing to the article Mr. Ibu. However, please do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, your own website, websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight, expressing views that are widely acknowledged as extremist, that are promotional in nature, or that rely heavily on rumors and personal opinions, as one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. If you require further assistance, please look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. Kuru (talk) 14:45, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wothappenonline?

[edit]

I see you added a link to Wothappenonline to the Nikki Amuka-Bird article. [2] What makes you think Wothappenonline is any kind of reliable source? Did you notice the part at the top of that page, https://www.wothappen.com/fascinating-facts-about-nikki-amuka-bird/ where it says "Home > Wikipedia > Fascinating facts about Nikki Amuka-Bird"? Honestly, that makes me suspect they're just recycling our article. --GRuban (talk) 21:17, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

GRuban, GRB, yes indeed that’s a poor source lacking editorial oversight and a reputation for fact checking. Did you remove it? If not please you are more than free to do so, I’d check for possible spamming. Celestina007 (talk) 21:47, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
GRB? Gamma ray burst? Grebo language? Gotta run bye? Anyway, yes, I did remove it, at least pending some evidence that this is a major newspaper or something, which it does not look like. --GRuban (talk) 12:53, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kemi Falani. ng

[edit]

Hello OOD can I use that?, I noticed you’re adding references to Nigerian articles and I wanted to let you know that Kemi Falani blog is not a reliable source. (See: WP:RS). I would have gone to revert them but you have added tons of them. Please, refrain from adding them on biography of living person. For a list of Nigerian reliable sources, see this page.
