Saeed Soltanpur

[edit]

Hi dear friend. I don't exactly know what is true in this case. As you can see in this changes I just think that the author means that "دانشگاه صنعتی تهران" is "دانشکده فنی دانشگاه تهران"; Because someone said before that "دانشگاه صنعتی تهران" didn't exist. If you believe that the university is "آریامهر" please, hand me by some source for your claim. Thanks. P. Pajouhesh (talk) 13:40, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think the better solution is to change the section heading AFAIK such lists should include people who are both raised/reared in an area and people who live in the area for an extended period of time WhisperToMe (talk) 02:16, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cyrus Pahlavi

[edit]

Hi. Just to let you know I've removed the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Cyrus Pahlavi because there are several clear claims of importance. Also anyone can remove speedy deletion templates from pages apart from the person who created that page. --Mrmatiko (talk) 16:02, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for notifying me. I will nominate it for deletion. AMERICOPHILE 16:21, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited List of English words containing q not followed by u, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Persian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Iran–Venezuela relations

[edit]

Would you be interested in writing a Persian version of en:Iran–Venezuela relations? WhisperToMe (talk) 20:08, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, but you must post it yourself because I'm still blocked there! AMERICOPHILE 21:22, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine! Post it on Wikinews, I'll have a FA contributor review it, and then I'll move it, just like last time WhisperToMe (talk) 21:49, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. It's 1:37 AM now here in Iran. I wanna go to sleep! I will do it tomorrow. AMERICOPHILE 22:08, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine! Let me know when you are finished. Thanks :) WhisperToMe (talk) 22:17, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for letting me know! I'm just posting it to the FA discussion page. Do you want me to suggest another one to work on? WhisperToMe (talk) 22:34, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm always ready! :-) AMERICOPHILE 22:35, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay - Why don't we get U.S. and Canadian school districts out of the way?
Peel District School Board - http://www.peelschools.org/farsi/home/ - The Persian page uses the district's English name - And http://www.peelschools.org/schools/documents/Farsi_Persian.pdf is the only other document in Persian that I know of
en:Fairfax County Public Schools (DC area) - مدارس ﻋﻤﻮﻣﯽ فيرفكس ﮐﺎﻧﺘﯽ:fa: - http://www.fcps.edu/otherlanguages/farsi.htm
WhisperToMe (talk) 23:42, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I will do them as soon as possible and notify you when they are finished. AMERICOPHILE 17:32, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jasmine approved the addition of fa:روابط ایران و ونزوئلا, so it's on there now. One change is that I swapped Bolivia's location map for Venezuela's. WhisperToMe (talk) 20:48, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My bad! I just copied and pasted the Template:Infobox Bilateral relations from Bolvia–Iran relations article on the Persian Wikipedia but forgot to change the location map. Thanks for fixing it. AMERICOPHILE 21:02, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome :) WhisperToMe (talk) 02:02, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want more to try to make a Persian versions of, I found Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Israel, Jews of Iran (film), and History of the Jews in Iran, which do not have Persian versions yet WhisperToMe (talk) 03:37, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I will put them in my to-do list. Americophile 03:58, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your input request at RfC

[edit]

As a previous contributor to the discussion, I wanted to let you know that a motion has been made to close the recent RfC and implement some of the ideas with regards to labeling and usage. Your inputs would be greatly appreciated at Wikipedia_talk:Copyrights#Wrapping_this_up. Buffs (talk) 01:56, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ref check

[edit]

Thank you very much for the ref check. Do the BBC refs mention his song/album charting? Gaijin42 (talk) 23:39, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Americophile 01:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Another idea for a Persian article

[edit]

That horrible shooting spree in Afghanistan is at Panjwai shooting spree. It needs to have an article in Persian too. If you want, why not write an article? WhisperToMe (talk) 14:49, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I will be unblocked on 27 March (i.e. just two weeks later). If there was no equivalent Persian article until that time, it would be my first priority. Americophile 01:57, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! WhisperToMe (talk) 04:30, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Another request

[edit]

Would it be alright if you wrote a Persian stub about the en:Peel District School Board? The Persian website is at http://www.peelschools.org/farsi/home/ - As a note, they also have a dedicated Dari site at http://www.peelschools.org/dari/home/

Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 04:30, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Americophile! I wish you well in your future endeavors :) WhisperToMe (talk) 02:13, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Comments on use of certain files not copyrighted in the US

[edit]

Hello,

There is an ongoing discussion about the use of files on Wikipedia that are not protected by copyright in the US because there is no copyright relations between the US and the country of publication. You commented in a 2012 discussion on the same topic that resulted in no consensus. You are invited to share your views in the ongoing discussion. AHeneen (talk) 21:15, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
