A Case in My Defence

Llama man, I saw on the page about suspected sockpuppets of Henchman 2000 that my name was listed. I would like to present to you, the gatherer of this evidence, my defence case.

  • Our accounts were created at roughly the same time because we share a computer and must take turns.
  • I have not displayed an example of Henchman's incivility.
  • I have attracted praise from you as a good contributor.
  • I dropped out of the edit war when it got unreasonable.
  • I have made lots of valuable edits.

Bowsy 11:19, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

What claim do you think is blatantly false? And although I went a bit far with Metros232, I have not attracted the negative attention of admins, nor have I been threatened with a block, unlike Henchman. Bowsy 11:11, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Remove my tag

Hey, I really don't know that your an Admin here of not, but can you please remove my protected tag because I can't even edit my userpage by myself, cause I needed to bypassed my userboxes? It's been like this for a while so I suggest you remove the protected tag. Thank you. Girla PurpleHeart 21:53, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

WP:ADOPT

Hi there,

As a current Adopter with the Adopt-a-User program there has been some ongoing developments that we would like to bring to your attention.

A new Adopter's Area has been created where you can find useful resources and other Adopter's experiences. Please feel free to add any resources you may have found useful as an Adopter, as well as recount any experiences that you think may help others. If you know of any useful resources for new users / Adoptees then you can add them here.

Also the way the adoption process works has changed slightly. To decrease workload at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user, on offering adoption please change the {{Adoptme}} template to {{Adoptoffer}} on the user's user page, and this will add the user to Category:Wikipedians having been offered adoption. Users that have already been offered adoption can always have a second or third offer, but by separating out those users that have not had an adoption offer yet, it is hoped that no one will go lacking.

Furthermore numerous Adopters have been adding their details to a list of users available for adopting, to offer a more personalised service and allow new users to browse through and pick their own Adopter. The quickest way to adopt though, is still to contact users at the Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user.

Finally - thanks for all your hard work, keep it up - and if you have any general questions or suggestions about the further development of Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User please bring them to our talk page. Cheers Lethaniol 13:55, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Mario Party 5: minigames list not NPOV

I've been struggling and struggling, and cannot find any way to make it a neutral point of view that is not from the POV of the player. I guess the best would be for every game mentioned to be described as "electrical current passes through the console and various computations occur, resulting in visual displays concurrent to the input from the game controller." If noone makes any changes to the list, I'll get on making it more neutral. Gene S. Poole 02:42, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

As per Mario Party, the list doesn't belong. It's cruft and not notable to list each and every mini-game. RobJ1981 21:01, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I've left a message on his talk page. An admin will get involved if he keeps blatantly re-adding the cruft lists. I'm sick of the edit war as well, but I simply don't want the articles to look horrible because of one editor's opinion. This is an encyclopedia, not a guide to every mini-game in each Mario Party video game. RobJ1981 20:40, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Mario Parties

I have been noticing that some user called Scepia has been adding ONE SENTENCE about mini games. Please cn you talk some sense into him/her and into the other user who is trying to tell me these lists are unneccessary. TEll me if you could do it. If you can't then I will write the mini game paragraph you suggested. Henchman 2000 09:10, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Great!

Wow! Great job, seriously. Keep up the great work, as for me I have been busy. Such as the Strat list and vandalism reverting, but more recently I have been working on Portal:Hinduism which is now a featured portal candidate. Also Hinduism is now a GA :). Also I have just passed the 7,500 mark. Cheers, oh and look your name is here. :). Happy editing. Arjun 01:46, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey, you're doing a good job, if I may say so myself. I saw the comment you left on Arjun's talk page, and it does look awesome. Maybe I can help?I don't know any of the games but... Cheers! --Tohru Honda13TalkSign here 03:35, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Yeah she definatly can do "anything" literally. I asked her to ref some of the Guitarists on my list (Well not mine :) and teh next day she got like 5 books and was like a bot! Arjun 04:11, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
File:Blush.png Well, I don't knwo about me doing anythingWell, maybe...I'd like to be as humble as I can. lol. Anyways, I'll look into the 'net for sources sometime this weekend. School starts again tomorrow (it was cancelled yesterday and today, thank goodness). Again, nice list you've been workin' on. Oh, and did you understand that notice from the WP:ADOPT thing up there? I didn't understand about it changing slightly. Could you help explain to me? I've got a massive headache, and too much thinking right now hurts. Thanks Llama man, y ¡Qué te vaya un buen noche! (Have a good night!) --Tohru Honda13TalkSign here 02:07, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Ok

ok i get ya

well tell ya what you have played mario party more then i have so give me a list of what the games make you do EX> do they make you think or solve a puzzle in a certain time limit etc. i want EVERYThing that they make you do. from that list i will edit it and place it in the article this way it sounds wikipedic and stuff. we can do the same for all the mario party games. i will take responsibility to makeing sure Encyclopedic infromation is being displayed instead of a long list or a insignificant sentance. Maverick423 15:44, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

I get it (sorta)

Edit wars truly suck. That's the long and the short of it, really. I've added a Wikimedia tip sheet on Wiki-stress to my user page - I think you will find it helpful. I'm not really following it right now, but I have edited my watchlist for various old crap that I don't really care about right now.

That's helped focus me a lot, and removed some annoyances (like Jimmy Wales - that article is forever going to annoy me. Not the man, the article). The only thing I would add to that tip sheet is to start doing what you came here to do and damn the torpedoes. Follow your passion, in other words. NinaOdell | Talk 15:45, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

I like your way of thinking =D thats what wikipedia is truly about. Maverick423 15:47, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

The thumbs up image on my userpage

Thanks for fixing the broken image on my userpage... I noticed it kept getting deleted or replaced so I figured I'd just leave it linked in hopes that someone would put up a different one. Ah well. ~Topaz 07:03, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

List of Luigi's Mansion ghosts

Yeahm about finding refs for it, it's pretty hard. Last night I looked on Google for nearly an hour and a half and all I found were reviews, price guides, forums, blogs, and ratings. For now, I'll try and start copyediting/cleaning up the article. Now I've gotten a certain likeness for lists; they're fun to add cites to :). Oh, and thanks for explaining the adopt thing. Now I understand it. Cheers! --Tohru Honda13TalkSign here 01:01, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Question

Does the "weak support" on Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Wildnox not count?(I assume this is because it is weak) Because if it does, even with one user removing one support, there appear to be 4 still. --Wildnox(talk) 18:52, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Do you have any idea where he is. Arjun 03:49, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I completely forgot about the "old bean". Well I hope they are having a good time wherever they are. Since we have both been working on lists, I have recently been working on this list. Though it needs alot of work. Cheers! Arjun 03:56, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

I would be enlightened. For the next couple of days I will begin to work on the lead, as right now it is pretty bad :(. But could be worse :) Arjun 04:27, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Why didn't I ask this earlier?

Hmm. I know that you mentioned namespaces a while ago, but they don't seem to take on the same meaning here as they do in Visual Basic. It's boggling my mind. What exactly are namespaces? (I still love exclamation marks!) -HuBmaN!!!! 16:05, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Stan Comics Article

So the reason my article was deleted was because Stan Comics isn't wildly known to the public?

Stan Comics

Not just a FEW people know about Stan Comics. With ALL that imformation I typed, and the help of my friend, who helps me with the comics, I wouldn't just write all that stuff for just me and a few buddies. My friend, as mentioned above, is member FSTA. He helps me with my page and updates and edits it constantly. But you deleted ALL of his stuff! Why?! Isn't that what we DO on Wikipedia? Edit pages that as we see fit?

Plus, I have seen some articles that I'm sure that NO ONE knows about. For example, the Abstract Gender Article. Who knows what that is? I do, but go to ANYBODY and they'd be clueless. Who needs Downblouse? Perverts, perhaps, but when I clicked random article it popped up. I noticed it just has a few words and has a link to cleavage! Why make and keep a page about that? I am sure that there are plenty more, but this is a rather large site and I would need to scour it more throughly.

I thought that Wikipedia allowed people to know about anything they wanted. What if someone wanted to know about types of Comics and they stumbled upon mine? Heck, I thinking of making them Webcomics! If that might HELP to maintain an article on this hallowed Website, then I would do it. Consider this and expect more arguements to follow.
