Ship articles & lists

[edit]

Hello there. First of all, welcome to Wikipedia. It's always nice to see more users interested in commercial ships join up. While your enthustiasm is appriciated, I have to point out a few mistakes in the edits you have made (not to be an asshat or anything):

HSC Viking - When an article about the craft already exists (in this case HSC SuperSeaCat Two), instead of creating a new article you should move the previous article (using the "move" button on the top of the page, between "history" and "watch"). Also in this particular case I would rather like to see a source stating that the SuperSeaCat Two has been renamed Viking. After a quick search I could find no info on this name change, not from the IOMSPCo official website nor any other website. The same goes for Snaefell, all sources I've been able to find list her current name as Sea Express 1.

List of ship launches/commissionings - First of all, ships should be entered into the lists under the name they carried on the date in question. So for instance in List of ship launches in 1991, the Snaefell should be listed under her then-current name Hoverspeed France. Additionally I have to point out she was launched (from dry dock) in 1990, and commissioned in 1991. I will make the required corrections for the SSC2 and Hoverspeed France.

Again, I don't mean to be a pain in the arse, but there are certain rules that all of us should abide by, and by doing so we'll make life easier for each other. Cheers. -- Kjet (talk · contribs) 19:40, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Liverpoolbridgexmr.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:52, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seatruck Ferries Template

[edit]

I saw your addition to MS Riverdance. The template will need altering in the near future, as both Riverdance and Moondance are scheduled for replacement. Another line will be needed to show past ships. Mjroots (talk) 15:58, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Clipper Pace/Point

[edit]

What is your source for these being Cyprus flagged? Seatruck vessels operating from Liverpool are Cyprus flagged, Heysham vessels are Bahamas. I've not seeb a reference to these being Cyprus flagged. Mjroots (talk) 15:30, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{Convert}} and knots

[edit]

Please not that kt as a code for knots is being phased out from use in {{convert}}. Please use kn instead. JЇѦρ 06:45, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That user just blanked your userpage. Do you know that user since it is simalar to your name?--RyRy5 Talk to RyRy 01:16, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome. I just needed that to be clarified. Cheers.--RyRy5 Got something to say? 13:56, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Older IOM Steam Packet vessels

[edit]

Do you think it would be possible to maybe start doing some work on the older vessels of the IOM Steam Packet, including the freighters like the Peveril. By the way, I've seen it mentioned in some web pages that the Mona's Isle VI was a disaster in IOM Steam Packet service, any reason why? I've been to the Isle of Man a few times and have travelled on the Ailsa shipyard twins, the Mona's Queen and Lady of Mann, as well as the old Ben-My-Chree. All vessels with a distinct character, though not as attractive as the old Manxman. My personal shipping interests have been the Clyde steamers. Douglasnicol (talk) 22:44, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it would be best to start with the Ailsa twins, the Mona's Queen and the Lady of Mann II. It's odd that even this late on in operations that the main car-carrying vessels were side loaders. When you think of Caledonian MacBrayne having had bow loading and stern loaders for years beforehand, though some of the Cal-Mac vessels were converted hoist loaders. The Manx Maid/Ben My Chree/Mona's Isle/Lady of Mann quartet

[edit]

Is it right to say these four vessels were part of the same class, I have Danielson's old book on the IOM Steam Packet vessels and it lists the Manx Maid and Ben My Chree as one distinct class and the Mona's Isle and Lady of Mann as another. Although the lines of the vessels could be classed as broadly similiar this is true of a lot of vessels. Look at some of the Calmac ones over the years, especially the Turbine steamers. Also the earliest two vessels were steam vessels while the latter two were motor vessels. Douglasnicol (talk) 19:19, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seatruck Ferries

[edit]

What do you know of the four ships Seatruck has acquired second hand - Arrow, Challenge, Triumph and Shield? The {{Seatruck Ships}} template will need to be expanded. I'm working on Clipper Pennant atm. Mjroots (talk) 09:33, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Incat 74m catamaran

[edit]

Would you mind if I expand your Template:Incat 74m catamaran to include all Incat models? Would be a very handy addition to all Incat pages. Philphos (talk) 10:36, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TSS Manxman (1955)

[edit]

The TSS Manxman article needs updating as far as her current fate. Gone forever? :( ~Eric F 184.76.225.106 (talk) 23:33, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
