RfC at Right Sector

[edit]

Thanks for commenting at Right Sector: Recent changes. A formal RfC on the question has just started. (“Should we say in the lead say that group members are neofascist?”) --Dervorguilla (talk) 19:55, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Latreia for correcting my edit on Right Sector. Not sure where I got that info, given the cite I used. -Darouet (talk) 19:57, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Those guys' importance is really overrated. Latreia (talk) 20:20, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
According to polls they have little support, and this would be consistent with published academic literature on far-right politics in Ukraine, which state that extremism is less of a problem there than in neighboring countries. My fear is that, with the threat of war or with people getting killed, populations on all sides become radicalized. -Darouet (talk) 20:51, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hillsong Church Kiev requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hillsong-Church-Kiev/112512478766244. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 03:21, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article was undeleted as there was NO copyright infringement. You have not done WP:BEFORE (by looking at the history of the article and seeing that its text came about gradually over time) and should have read criteria for speedy deletion up to the section (WP:NOTCSD) where there is one #10:

If content appears both here and somewhere else (possibly in modified form), consider the possibility that Wikipedia's is the original version and the other site copied from us.

What a novel idea that after more a decade of Wikipedia's existence, some people on Facebook (seeing as the Facebook page is clearly marked as an _unofficial_ page; thus either created by some random fans, or a "community page" which fetches content from Wikipedia automatically) could have copied Wikipedia. —Latreia (talk) 11:28, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Suman Sen 303. And, they're likely back:) ~ Winged BladesGodric 16:08, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Winged Blades of Godric: I see that the new sock has already been blocked. Back then, I tried to put their/his self-promotion up for speedy deletion, but it was rejected, which I frankly didn't understand—new book, draft edited only by socks of the author.... Soviet Aviation Task Force Invitation

[edit]

Hi! I noticed you are fluent in both Russian and English and was hoping you would join the Soviet Aviation Task Force and translate some of our missing articles into English. Many of the articles on the list are Heroes of the Soviet Union that have articles in many languages except English, and others on the list are major plane crashes that have yet to be articles on English Wiki. We also have many stubs that can easily be expanded through translation from Russian. I really hope you can join our task force and assist in translating. We really need some native Russian speakers at our task force, and you seem like a great candidate. Thank you, --PlanespotterA320 (talk) 18:22, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
