Blocked
[edit]You were warned that you had to declare your conflict of interest, as per WP:COI, before editing further. As you have refused to do so, I have reimposed your indefinite block. Any admin is welcome to unblock you after you have declared your conflict of interest, using the proper template, on this talk page. --Yamla (talk) 12:27, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
How do I declare this? What do you want me to do? I have asked to change a logo because I work in the Online team for Fortnum's - so I own the brand on Wikipedia on behalf of the company. Please unblock me. --lamib (talk) 09.59, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
- This is explained in WP:COI. You categorically must read every part of WP:COI and WP:PAID. This is not optional, and is why you are blocked. --Yamla (talk) 11:18, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. I am a little confused by the article - I can see that I need to ensure there is no conflict of interest. There isn't here as I am paid to make changes on behalf of Fortnum's but not sure if the following is exactly what I need to do.
The Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use require that editors disclose their "employer, client, and affiliation" with respect to any paid contribution; see WP:PAID. For advice about reviewing paid contributions, see WP:COIRESPONSE.

^^^ Yamla
That's fine, you have declared your conflict of interest. I'm confused, though, by your claim that there's no conflict. "I am paid to make changes on behalf of Fortnum's" means exactly the opposite. This means you categorically do have a conflict of interest. That means you need to be careful with your edits. In fact, you should refrain from making any edits at all to Fortnum's, except for correcting facts. For example, it'd be okay to change where the head office is located. It would not be appropriate to state that Fortnum's is "an award winning provider of luxury hampers". Basically, you need to avoid any and all promotion. This is tricky; most sites allow you to say pretty much whatever you want, but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and in general, prohibits conflicts of interest edits. Let me know if you understand, or if you have further questions. --Yamla (talk) 16:25, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Yamla That's absolutely fine. Currently I just need to update the logo and some of the images. I am not looking to write any promo wording. I may at some point need to correct some facts - but not at the moment. --lamib (talk) 15.14, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
- Excellent. I have lifted your block and you are free to edit. Have a good day! --Yamla (talk) 16:52, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Yamla Thank you - much appreciated. Do I need to get someone else to edit the page or am I able to do it? --lamib (talk) 17.20, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
- The safest approach is to suggest changes on the article's talk page. However, changing e.g. the logo, that's definitely fine. That's exactly what I was getting at above, and I'm happy you asked to be sure. --Yamla (talk) 17:29, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Yamla Perfect - thanks for your help --lamib (talk) 17.35, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Yamla Hi there. I have asked someone on the article's talk page for the Fortnum & Mason Wiki page to amend the logo - it was initially amended and the reverted because one of the editors thought the logo I asked to change to was incorrect. I have explained to the editor, that the new logo is on the homepage header, on all new products etc. They still haven't amended the logo. I also need to amend some of the images. Would you be able to jump in or nudge them? Much appreciated. --lamib (talk) 10.00, 20 March 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.225.16.83 (talk)
