A request to continue using summaries
[edit]As filling in the edit summary field will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article, this greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Murghdisc. 21:25, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- Okay. I usually complete the summary field, but must have forgotten. Which page are you watching? Krikke 18:52, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. It was in response to a string of minor uncommented edits of Fr-B comics on my watchlist. Thanks. Murghdisc. 18:59, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Foreign and Belgian films
[edit]HI. I beleive we should always keep the original titles. For instance if you are looking for a Portuguese film in the category with a translated title it will be unrecognizable unless the film has been given a major international rleease and issued under an english title also. My convention is to always state the english in bold in the article beginning,
For me the foreign title of the film is set, it would be like an article on Mont Blanc on wikipedia being called White Mountain or Los Angeles - The Angels. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 16:05, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
. However in regard to the Belgian films I noticed those lnong Belgian titles yesterday especially the earlier films - for these it is best to compact the name into english - most of them refer to an event rather than a familiar title for the film. Regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 16:00, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
For instance the title Te Deum à l'église de SS. Michel et Gudule, en l'honneur du roi Albert, le 25 décembre 1909 would look ridiculous!!! The article would be named just SS. Michel et Gudule or something ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 16:03, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
CfD nomination
[edit]Hi Krikke
well done nominating Category:Belgian animation films for renaming at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 June 5#Category:Belgian_animation_films: a good proposal, which I have supported for consistency with the other sub-categories of Category:Animated films.
However, you did not follow the procedure at WP:CFD#Procedure, so the category was not tagged with {{cfr}}. I have now tagged it. Next time you spot a category like that, please do nominate it at CfD, but also please do try to make sure that it is tagged, so that editors know that it is under discussion.
I now that this must sound very bureaucratic and tedious, but it's all part of how we keep wikipedia working collaboratively, so it is important. I see that you are relatively new to wikipedia, and all these processes can seem rather daunting, so please don't feel bad about having missed one of the steps; we've all been there as we learn our way around!
Good luck, and let me know if I can help with anything. (I'll be away for the next week, but thereafter I'll be around a lot as usual). --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 19:19, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hi BrownHairedGirl. Thanks for pointing that out and sorry for not tagging the category. Yup, relatively new at this and still learning all the processes! Krikke 19:29, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit]This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Belvision.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:10, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Fair use disputed for Image:Taxandria.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Taxandria.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:29, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
