[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Sherri Papini kidnapping hoax has been reverted.
Your edit here to Sherri Papini kidnapping hoax was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7idBeFkj84) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 20:27, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OK, noted. The link I replaced was also a YouTube link, as are most of the external links there. Someone else handle?--Jacobin 357 (talk) 21:37, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Alissa quart.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Alissa quart.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:18, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

OK, got it, thanks.--Jacobin 357 (talk) 13:03, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Purple Carrot, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Needham. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:36, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Prime Produce has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be well below the requirements of WP:NCORP (particularly WP:AUD and WP:SIRS).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 18:49, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Uncalled for but at least you didn't put it up for Speedy Deletion.--Jacobin 357 (talk) 18:53, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nazareth Hassan

[edit]

Hi Jacobin 357. I was glad to see that you started an article for Nazareth Hassan. Unfortunately, most of the article was a word-for-word copy of the Royal Court source. I've revised it, but please take care to write in your own words in the future. Thanks, gobonobo + c 08:57, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I used it as a placeholder while I worked on something else and completely forgot to change it. thanks for your work!--Jacobin 357 (talk) 12:24, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits

[edit]

Information icon Hi Jacobin 357! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. You tend to mark a lot of edits as minor when they definitely shouldn't be. Here is the clearest example I could find, but even such things as renaming a heading from "Research" to "Career" should not be marked minor: [1] AncientWalrus (talk) 17:40, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks. Can you tell me where in this long edit you believe I did this? If it was when I changed "dozens of" to "many" that was changed as the former is considered a peacock term.--Jacobin 357 (talk) 14:11, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You deleted at least a full sentence, inserted to where tags and reordered paragraphs and changed some wordings. While I don't necessarily object, they are not obviously unobjectionable. And should hence not be marked minor. Also, please leave informative edit messages. AncientWalrus (talk) 21:54, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Again link and illustrate please. thanks--Jacobin 357 (talk) 14:14, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Read the template. It states clearly that it means nothing other than that you have recently edited a biography. Template is to make you aware of the extra care required. But if you ask for concrete feedback that applies generally but in particular to contentious topics: leave edit summaries and don't mark as minor if it isn't entirely unobjectionable. AncientWalrus (talk) 21:57, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't about the article on Francesca Gino, who is still alive, so I don't know which article you are referring to so can't address the incident which you refer to. I simply cannot read your mind. Please review Wikipedia Welcome graphic at the very top of my page: Under "Community" it says to "Assume good faith." You can see that I work on many things and such misrepresentations are never malicious. Jacobin 357 (talk) 12:44, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
