LA city council
[edit]Igbo, I was just wondering, where did you get all that information on historical city councils? I tried googling a couple of the names and there are absolutly no pages for the older ones. (if you dont mind revealing you sources, :-) )
The information comes from, "Chronological Record of Los Angeles City Officials: 1850—1938," Compiled under Direction of Municipal Reference Library City Hall, Los Angeles March 1938 (Reprinted 1966). It's available at the Los Angeles Central Library. Igbo 10:05, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Maxcy D. Filer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Maxcy D. Filer. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Notability of J. H. Rush
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on J. H. Rush, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because J. H. Rush seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting J. H. Rush, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. AfD Nomination: Monte Snavely
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Monte Snavely meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.
Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Monte Snavely. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.
Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Your edits look very valuable but on several of these politician pages, there is a problem with notability. Please review WP:BIO. Good luck! Renee (talk) 16:19, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
CfD nomination of Category:Water Overseers of Los Angeles, California
[edit]Category:Water Overseers of Los Angeles, California, which you created, has been nominated for deletion, merging, or renaming. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments at the category's entry on the Categories for discussion page. Thank you. Sourcing content
[edit]Please note that any information/content you add to articles, must be sourced - especially when it's pertaining to biographies of living people (See WP:BLP). Please read the guidelines at WP:SOURCE and WP:CITE. I noticed you made such edits at Harvey Johnson, Jr. where you added quite a bit of "information as fact" but only one source. Please note that without verifiable sourcing, content which you work hard to research and include, could and probably will be removed by someone else because they have no source to verify the content. Please consider this in your future editing. I'd also encourage you to go back to any articles you've worked on already and remedy this issue. Happy editing! - ALLST✰R▼echo wuz here @ 03:33, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Cheri Barry. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Frank K. Wheaton
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Frank K. Wheaton. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Frank K. Wheaton. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:25, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Igbo! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 7 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 16 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Billy G. Mills - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Robert C. Farrell - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Speedy deletion nomination of Marguerite Young Alexander
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Marguerite Young Alexander requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Comments on Grace Berg Schaible
[edit]- It was commonplace in Alaska, through the 1950s, for expectant mothers to leave Alaska temporarily to have their children. This was due to the often primitive hospitals which existed in Alaska at the time. Keeping this in mind, it's probably inappropriate to say that her mother moved to Tacoma, as in all likelihood she still remained (at least in a legal sense) a resident of Alaska.
- It's ARCTIC Slope Regional Corporation. The placement in the article would make it appear as if this happened during the 1960s. ASRC didn't exist in the 1960s.
- Grace Schaible is also heavily involved with promoting opera. She travels a lot, so I dunno about outside of Fairbanks, but here in Fairbanks it's mostly been through public radio station KUAC.RadioKAOS (talk) 13:44, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
The article Any Ol' Sunday has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- non notable song by non notable songwriter
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Dmol (talk) 09:15, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

[edit]Hello Igbo. Your articles, Just for You, Any Ol' Sunday, and the McCrarys, are all lacking reliable secondary sources and are likely to be deleted if these are not provided. Please add sufficient references as soon as possible. Thanks.--Dmol (talk) 22:30, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Autopatrolled
[edit]Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:
- This permission does not give you any special status or authority
- Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
- You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
- If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
- If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing! Acalamari 21:31, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Hello. I am working on providing biographies for all the people listed on the above page, which is a list of Los Angeles City Council members. Unfortunately, there is a mistake in the list. I don't know how to deal with the table coding, so I am asking for somebody to fix it. You've worked on this page before, so you are probably familiar with it. In the 7th District, the name Will H. Kindig should be listed as 1935–37. He occupied this seat for two years and was then succeeded by Howard W. Davis, who won the election to get his old post back again. Can you kindly make the necessary change in the chart? Thank you. Sincerely, GeorgeLouis (talk) 19:01, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on NAACP Theatre Award for Best Director of a Musical – Equity requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Other relatives section you added to Ernest Hemmingway
[edit]The supposed fact that Cindy Crawford may be an eighth cousin twice removed of Ernest Hemmingway is trivia and has no place in an encyclopedic article. Were it even to be true, that tenuous degree of kinship likely includes ten of thousands of individuals. That degree of kinship can mean two individuals shared a common ancestor 8 generations back for one and 10 generations back for the other. Accordingly I have reverted the material. If you think I have incorrectly removed the material, I suggest you discuss the material on the article talk page before reinserting the material. Neonorange (talk) 10:03, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

The article List of mayors of Gluckstadt, Mississippi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
A "list" of one, for a place with a few thousand inhabitants.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 08:51, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
