Hi Genland PZ I'm reviewing new pages and the above article by you is newly created, I'm just curious as to why you think this match is notable enough for it's own article - see WP:SPORTSEVENT for when a match might be notable enough. Note also that we don't use youtube as a reference as that site is user generated and thus considered unreliable (a match report would usually be from someone like CONCACAF, The Mexico/El Salvador FA, a major news outlet). JW 1961 Talk 22:19, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Joseywales1961,
Thank you for your comments.
The 1981 CONCACAF Championship is a continental tournament in football. Because of this, the whole matches can be considered as “notable”, as per the UEFA European Championship, for instance.
The tournament was played in a round-robin, so there is not a Final match nor Semifinal matches. The most interesting matches can be considered Mexico–El Salvador, Honduras–El Salvador or Honduras–Mexico, i.e. the matches involving the three top teams in the table. There is no coverage of past tournaments in the CONCACAF Gold Cup official site nor the Mexico Football Federation official site.
The Mexico–El Salvador page has been created according to the official broadcasting of the event by the Mexican television [1], which seems to be a totally reliable source as it consists in video documentation.
Reference to this match is found in the El Gráfico site. Match report in this El Salvador site. Both of them are referenced in the page.
For further information, I created the page 1980 AFC Asian Cup Final following the same principles. The aim is to encourage Wikipedia users to create similar pages covering notable international football tournaments, not waiting for “official sites” which are often lacking or inaccurate.

Genland PZ, Thank you for the reply, I see that an administrator has already moved the article to draftspace where you can continue to work on it without it being tagged for issues as happens when the articles become live. Best wishes JW 1961 Talk 15:41, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 1981 Mexico El Salvador 1981 CONCACAF Championship, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 23:37, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

PS: for the sake of clarity, the page doesn’t deal with political or commercial topics. It is a football (soccer) line-up.

Dear Greenman,
Thank you for your review.
If I understand your comment, I will merge both articles in one, named Draft:1981 CONCACAF Championship Final Round. Of course, this article will not be complete as it will be composed of 2 out of 15 matches of the tournament. It could be a source of inspiration for other Wikipedia contributors.

Dear SportingFlyer,
Thank you for your review, I appreciate your interest. Here in the following my replies:
1. Relevance: Line-ups from the 8th edition of the CONCACAF Championship can be considered relevant as per the continental football Championships from all other Confederations. Here an example from the 1960 European Nations' Cup qualifying preliminary round. Here from the 1999 Copa América Group A. For the CONCACAF Championships, now Gold Cup, line-ups are available from 2011 onward. Here for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup Group A. It should be interesting to fill the gap with the older editions, progressively.
2. Sources: the main sources cited in the article are TV broadcastings of the matches. Can video sources be considered as reliable? Does Wikipedia admit only written sources?
Accompanying sources come from South American sites of newspapers or press blogs. No mention of 1981 line-ups is included in the CONCACAF official site. Does it mean Wikipedia cannot publish articles on this topic?
3. Incomplete number of matches: this remark is quite in contradiction with the previous ones. The contribution of this draft is limited to the matches whose sources (published, reliable, etc.) are available to the writer. The remaining 13 matches could be completed by other readers/contributors once they dispose of the sources, possibly inspired by the existence of this first version of the article. Is this the spirit of the collaborative encyclopaedia?
4. Duplication: the proposed Draft:1981 CONCACAF Championship Final Round is not a duplication of the 1981 CONCACAF Championship as the draft shows line-ups. See #1 to find similar examples for Championships from other Confederations.
I would be grateful to read your comments to these points.
Regards,

Dear Greenman,
Thank you for your review.
I have added the Draft:1981 CONCACAF Championship Final Round as a section of the 1981 CONCACAF Championship. Actually it was my first intent.
Hoping it will be satisfactory.
Regards.
