so, hi!

[edit]

we have been bumping into one another lately. We seem to have an interest in some of the same topics! Jytdog (talk) 04:39, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi back Jytdog, interested in your observation of the topics we share. Also interested in your revert, I found the paper very interesting and loved half the graphs. Would you accept it as reliable coming from an MD instead?

thanks for talking! to the extent that the document talks about health, it is not OK to have on Wikipedia as it is not reliable for that information.... we only want reliable information about health here as defined in WP:MEDRS. I too sometimes find blog sites or other WP:SPS that say exactly what i think is correct and even cite great sources.... and I cannot use them. this is the price we pay for having a wide-open encyclopedia that anyone can edit. if we let things in like the site you linked to (or that I sometimes find too!), then we also must let in this kind of thing. and then we are in disastersville. you can see that, right?  :) Jytdog (talk) 06:17, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Wikicology. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Seton Dam, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. . Hi Wikicology My "reliable source" was given in the change comment as BC Hydro's "Seton Lake Recreation Area" the same web site already referenced in the article. So I'm curious what your purpose is? Dougmcdonell (talk) 15:05, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Terraforming of Mars, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hypoxia. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. Carbon Conversations

[edit]

Hi Doug I see that you have reverted the changes I had made at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Individual_and_political_action_on_climate_change#Carbon_Conversations This is disappointing as the description of the Carbon Conversations project is far from correct. As a co-author of the Carbon Conversations Handbook: In time for Tomorrow? (ISBN 978-0-9931211-0-4) I had hoped we could ensure that the entry reflected the intentions (and practice) of the project. Best, Andy

@Goldfin: sorry, you are mistaken, user:Vsmith reverted your edit to the previous version which was my last edit. As the edit comment noted, reverting due to inline external link to a web site. Also please sign your edits with four tildes. Dougmcdonell (talk) 17:03, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Growth of photovoltaics

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you reverted my edits. Please note that the information is in the section "Regional forecast". All the information is forecasts for past years, which are not relevant since we actually have the final information. What I left there are the forecasts for next years and I also added information about planned capacity in Japan. Sorry, but I will revert your revert. --Ita140188 (talk) 15:50, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Ita140188: Thank you for your note, you are right on the button, I did not notice the section was "Regional forecast". Dougmcdonell (talk) 20:09, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicating reply to your talk page

[edit]

That was really helpful Dougmcdonell! Colombo University is the same as University of Ceylon, it was seperated into 4 Universities, one of which was Colombo University. I have amended the reference and added the correct one, but I have checked the isbn number on "Dynamics: Newtonian Relativity, and it is defnitely correct and an isbn number, but it isn't registered/won't appear. Why is that? Do you know any other way to verify books that I could use? Thanks, Heptanitrocubane

Nuclear power phase-out edits

[edit]

I have taken the liberty to improve nuclear power phase-out a little and noticed that you had added the deleted lines. I wonder what your intention was, putting the line about fossil fuel power increase before the power security study links, which does say nothing of the sort. In the graph right next to it, the accumulated numbers for fossil fuel power goes down every year, from 58% in 2011 to 52.7% in 2015, so where did you get your comically wrong information from? In fact, the only reference to a change of power supply I could find in the linked sources was "largely replacing them with weather-dependent renewable energy facilities", which is why I also deleted the other line with the dead source. --Lightkey (talk) 03:47, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
