[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:B&wlogo.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:06, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Fair use rationale for Image:Maconstatewikilogo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Maconstatewikilogo.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 21:00, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Maconstatelogo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Maconstatelogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:19, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for updating the seal! I've gone ahead and replaced with a png version that is transparent with better quality. Corkythehornetfan 22:06, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please look at the PNG seal: it IS the SAME one as the one YOU uploaded. I updated after you had updated yours. Please do NOT revert again. I repeat, the PNG is the updated version. Corkythehornetfan 17:37, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The name of the file doesn't matter. The PNG version is the EXACT SAME ONE as the JPG version. The old seal will be deleted and the current one will be used. I don't know why you are not getting this. Also, please respond here instead of your Edit summary. If you continue this behavior, I will just warn you for disrupting Wikipedia. I've tried to talk to you, but you can't seem to answer. You also can't seem to realize that I've updated and replaced the old seal in the PNG version and that the name of the file does not matter, which is causing you to start an edit war, which is not accepted on Wikipedia. Corkythehornetfan 18:30, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe the issue was in my cache, though I'm certain I had cleared it out. Indeed, the correct seal is now displayed, and I thank you. I replied in the other area because I didn't know about this talk page. I certainly wanted to communicate off line, but didn't know how. I'm very sorry for your trouble.Bollweevil3 (talk) 21:26, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Glad you got it figured out! Corkythehornetfan 01:24, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Middle Georgia State University, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Bibb County, Robert W. Smith and ACEN. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I note that when you cite website references you bring in the headline title, access date, etc. Is that information drawn in automatically by your bots based on the URL we provide, or are we supposed to enter all of that data ourselves? Bollweevil3 (talk) 14:04, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship with Middle Georgia State University?

[edit]

Do you have a relationship with Middle Georgia State University or perhaps one of the colleges that merged to form it? If you do, please review our conflict of interest policies.

Additionally, can you please clarify the license and copyright status of the images you uploaded a few months ago (File:Wikidublin.jpg, File:Wikieastman.jpg, File:Wikicochran.jpg, File:Wikimacon.jpg, and File:Wikiwrobins.jpg)? Are you the copyright holder for all of the images (I note that one of them, File:Wikimacon.jpg, has metadata indicating that Walter Elliott owns the copyright and his webpage doesn't appear to mention that this image is licensed under Creative Commons)?
