Montalvo cutoff

[edit]

I could probably make a hash of this, but I appreciate that you are more adept at these details. I was going to try to explain how the path of the railroad affected all of the related communities; Fillmore, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Oxnard Montalvo/Ventura. Here's a source [1] Trackinfo (talk) 17:03, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Trackinfo: Very interesting source. This is the most direct explanation I have seen so I will incorporate it. Thanks Fettlemap (talk) 17:10, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction

[edit]

@Fettlemap:,
I just wanted to reach out and formally introduce myself. I've noticed we have overlapped with each other several times on Californian topics and want to say I am a fan/supporter of your work on Wikipedia. It's always nice to see other Californians working to improve and expand topics relating to CA. Just wanted to say if I can ever help you out on CA topics, let me know! I'm from NorCal, and from your edits I assume you are from SoCal, but if there is ever a way for us to help each other in improving things for Californian articles, just know I am here to offer a helping hand. Kind regards, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 22:18, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Cristiano Tomás:,

Thanks for reaching out, you are correct on all counts. I constantly appreciate your edits. When I look them over, I always know I can learn something about how to improve articles. Thanks for the offer of help, I will keep it in mind and know you can contact me anytime if something comes up. Cheers, Fettlemap (talk) 22:25, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Possible program additions to Silicon Valley Community Foundation

[edit]

Hi User:Fettlemap. Given that the Silicon Valley Community Foundation primarily covers our history, I would like to request adding some information about what the organization does. I have put a few of our programs/grant titles on the talk page along with formatted citations that cover them. I’m wondering if you would find it a good use of your time to add some content there on these programs? I am also tagging User:Smuckola, User:Cristiano Tomás, and User:Binksternet who have recently made edits to the article to broader input. Thank you for your consideration. Brookfield Asset Management

[edit]

Hi Fettlemap. Thanks so much for removing the "Controversies" sections from the several Brookfield Asset Management-related articles. I wonder if you could also take a look at a previous edit request I posted at Talk:Brookfield Asset Management#Request to revert non-NPOV edits concerning some edits that were made which I believe reduced the overall neutrality of the article. Some of the problems were already dealt with satisfactorily, but others were allowed to remain. I am asking you, an experienced editor, to have a look and see if there is some room for improvement to the article's neutrality. Thanks again for all your help. Mf419 (talk) 14:12, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed this edit. A while ago, there was an RFC supporting your edit. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:59, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation

Hello Adflatuss!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

DYK for Kāneiolouma Complex

[edit]

On 1 May 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Kāneiolouma Complex, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the ancient Hawaiian village known as the Kāneiolouma Complex (pictured) is across the street from a popular beach on the island of Kauaʻi? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Kaneiolouma Complex. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Kāneiolouma Complex), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:29, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Watts Towers

[edit]

Well but another post (Southland) merely claims they "appear in the background" and I put mine at the top because of chronological order. ScottyScholar (talk) 17:26, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, several more should be deleted as trivial. Cheers, Adflatusstalk 21:59, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
