Welcome!
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.
Here are some links to pages you may find useful:
- Contributing to Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- Simplified Manual of Style
You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
Note that in order for the first three features to be available, you must have had an account for a certain number of days and made a certain number of edits.
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (47.55.50.218) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! –Gladamas (talk · contribs) 22:18, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
Infoboxes
[edit]It's not necessary or useful to go around removing blank entry fields from articles' infoboxes. Sometimes the fields aren't actually inapplicable, but rather the information is just missing and can be added as soon as somebody puts in the effort to find the information — but they can't do that if the field isn't there to add it to. So please just leave populated places' infoboxes alone and don't go around removing all the unused entry fields. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 17:37, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
Please stop turning good links into bad links
[edit]WP:INTDABLINK specifies that links to DAB pages must go through the (disambiguation) qualifier. I've had to revert at least 30 of your edits where you had removed the (disambiguation) qualifier thus creating an error. I have better things to do. Narky Blert (talk) 09:40, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop removing the FM signal data from this article's infobox. You are not helping. -- Denelson83 02:56, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
General errors
[edit]Don't add links to Canada as that is a common term and should not be linked. Adding links to Mountain Daylight Time is overlinking as a link to Mountain Standard Time is already give. Don't blindly remove redlinks as some/most of them will be written someday. Don't remove the second blank line before the stub template as per Wikipedia:Stub#How to mark an article as a stub. See the second sentence in the second paragraph in that section which says "Leave two blank lines between the first stub template and whatever precedes it." Bypassing redirects
[edit]It is not necessary or valuable to go around changing links in articles just for the sake of bypassing a redirect to the same target — for example, it is not useful to edit a radio station's article just to change a link from FM radio to FM broadcasting. If you're making other substantial changes to the article at the same time, then you can change the link target in the process — but there's no value whatsoever in editing an article just to reword a link that already gets the reader to the same place either way. If it ain't broken, don't fix it. If you want to make "cleanup" contributions to Wikipedia, could you at least join an actual wikiproject so that you know what types of cleanup are considered useful, instead of just making your own random decisions to "fix" things that people have to keep asking you to stop doing? This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
