Lori is a single mother to two girls, Jennie, 19 and Christina 14. Early life Before she started her auto glass business, Lori worked for 17 years with her two brothers at a service station in Brooklyn where she learned about everything automotive. During this period, Lori became interested in customized cars as her brother Michael restored cars and built custom motorcycles. Career move Although Lori was content working with her brothers, when she moved to Staten Island with her daughters she desired to own her own business and also be nearby her daughtersʼ school. In 2000 she opened Cristal Auto Glass. Incidentally, Lori named her business after her two ex-husbands: Cris+Al = Cristal! Cars: From Hobby to Passion Naturally, Loriʼs interest in cars grew and in 2003 she customized her Cadillac Escalade with a set of rims, a drop kit and lights. She began attending car shows with her daughters as a family hobby and she now shows her vehicles across the U.S. Loriʼs ʼ04 Cadillac XLR has won 83 awards including “Best Domestic” and “Best Female Ride”. In April 2009, Lori and her ʼ07 Cadillac EXT were showcased at the NY International Auto Show, NYC and was a visitorsʼ favorite. Publications Lori and her cars have been featured in a variety of automotive enthusiast magazines including Plush, Deep Hitters and most notably, a full feature of Loriʼs story was published in the July 2009 issue of Rides Magazine. Television Loriʼs first TV show was Car Wars with Funk Master Flex on the cable network ESPN2. In 45 days, with the help of her colleagues in the automotive business, Lori took apart and then completely customized her ʼ04 Cadillac XLR. On CWWFMF Loriʼs unique personality garnered her a huge viewer following and landed her a second TV gig as a judge on the showʼs subsequent seasons.
