Who is Literarytech?
[edit]David is a casual student of history, cookery and photography. He was born in Colorado and quickly moved with his parents to Austin, Texas where his siblings were born. At five his parents moved to a home in the eastern Texas Hill Country near Dripping Springs, Texas. He graduated high school there and then enrolled at the University of Dallas. There he studied philosophy and literature and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Literature.
After a brief time teaching school, he took an opportunity to join Harcourt Brace College Publishers in Fort Worth, Texas. This began a long career in educational technology.[1] In addition to his early work at Harcourt Brace, David has worked for Macmillan Computer Publishing, an e-learning startup in Dallas, Course Technology, Microsoft, Catapult Learning, Blackboard Inc., and back to Microsoft.
Over the course of that career, David has lived in Irving, Texas, Noblesville, Indiana, Edmond, Oklahoma, Seattle, Washington, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lakeway, Texas, Denver, Colorado, and back to Seattle. While in Oklahoma, David navigated his coming out and with care for the child, separated from his wife. Shortly after, he met Patrick. They were joined in church marriage in 2005,[2] and then joined in civil partnership in 2009, and finally were joined in civil marriage in 2013.[3]
David currently lives in València with his husband and two dogs. His spends his spare time learning more about human history with a particular focus on the history of the European countries. He has contributed financially to Wikipedia for years, but in his retirement, he expects to contribute more regularly to the development of this vehicle of human knowledge. His current interest is focused on history of Europe with many years establishing a foundation in the history of England, however current work involves the history of Spain, particularly in Valencia where he has retired.
