A knowledge exchange fellow and research associate within the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The University of Manchester. I specialise in sustainable agricultural systems (specifically hydroponic and aquaponic systems), and currently work across three projects: H3 (Healthy Soil, Healthy Food, Healthy People) - within which we are looking at the feasibility of low input hydroponics in the UK using practical systems designed and built by our group. Bacterial Plant Diseases - within which we are looking to harness disease suppressive microbes from soil and transfer these to hydroponics to address Root Mat Disease. South Yorkshire Sustainability Centre - A consortium of academic institutions, industry and local authority, seeking to co-design a framework and set of interventions to decarbonise the agri-food system in South Yorkshire.
