Freddie Mercury (talk · contribs) – My bud Freddie began to be an active user of Wikipedia on 17 December 2005. The first few subjects of his skillful editing were Illinois-related articles, where he contributed so many useful bits on information that I couldn't list them all. I'll give a few diffs for convenience: 1, 2, 3. He then shifted his focus to the article Unexplained Mysteries, where he performed a major revamp of the (shabbily written) article, the first edit of which was removing an unneeded, unsourced statement by a naughty IP editor. After that, he began a spree of adding incredibly useful links to some link-barren articles, which are so numerous that I won't even try to list them here. View them at Special:Contributions/Freddie Mercury (heads-up: you may have to click the "500 per page" option to get a reasonable perspective of the user's contribs).
According to Wikichecker's edit summary on him, he's maintained an edit-count-in-the-articlespace percentage of over 75%. His edit count in the Mediawiki namespace is a bit low, but please don't count that against him. Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I intend to improve a large portion of Wikipedia's articles (I realize that I can't get to all of them) by adding my quotes to them, such as "I'm as gay as a daffodil!" and "Fuck."
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: I believe my (albeit brief) period of editing in mid-December of '05 was the best, although the article about me is well written (although it has no pictures of me that lack chest hair; someone fix this immediately!)
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Ah, yes. I had a run-in with some "Jimbo" guy a while back. It was enlightening, but I after that discussion I decided I never wanted to come in contact with another man named Jimbo again. Phooey on him, I've still got my 4-octave modal voice range!
