Critical Hit is a computer game and film review website based out of Cape Town, South Africa. The company was founded in 2008 by software engineer Gavin Mannion and went by the name The Lazy Gamer.[1]He later went on to upgrade the site and hire staff.[2]Around this time he started the movies; a sister blog which posted daily news and reviews about new films and television series.[3]

2016 Merger

[edit]

The lazy gamer and the movies were merged in 2016, under the name of Critical hit; to offer video game, entertainment and technology news in a single spot. They have since gone on to be accredited by meta critic and open critic respectively; the only South African computer game review site to receive accreditation from these platforms.[4][5]
