"T-series"?

[edit]

@ZLEA:, what's your source for this? I read an off-wiki article this month that asserts it's a trainer designation, as the TF was originally envisioned as a trainer for the S2F, and never redesignated. I can't remember where at the moment, but I'll search my browser history later. BilCat (talk) 22:54, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. I remember seeing TF being listed as a "Transport" designation by one source, but I don't remember where I saw it. It would make more sense as a trainer designation, though. - ZLEA T\C 23:12, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"T" was clearly used for "trainer" by the Navy during the fifties, so you should probably revert back for now. If I find the source on the TF, I'll add it to the C-1 article. BilCat (talk) 23:19, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I found a print source that states its a trainer designation. It's Aircraft Carriers by Chris Bishop and Chris Chant (2004), p. 168. I'll add that to the C-1 article now. BilCat (talk) 23:30, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
