Raycroft
[edit]I've missed it; who claimed Raycroft off waivers? GoodDay (talk) 23:35, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Raycroft got bought out and signed by Colorado. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.243.160.167 (talk) 19:36, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
UFAs
[edit]Where's the UFAs, they weren't suppose to be moved until they retired, signed elswhere or team declared they wouldn't be re-signed. GoodDay (talk) 20:35, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- PS- I'ver restored Captain Mats Sundin to the roster. GoodDay (talk) 20:52, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Mats Sundin
[edit]He is an unrestricted free agent. He is not part of the team anymore. He shouldn't be on the roster. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.141.41.26 (talk) 14:33, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- See above, and see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ice Hockey#UFAs. Unsigned UFAs stay on their last team's roster until signed. —C.Fred (talk) 16:16, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Once again, Sundin has been removed from this Template. I recommend the Template be semi-protected; what ya'll think? GoodDay (talk) 14:57, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry if my 'edit summary' seems loud; but Sundin's being continously deleted, tends to get frustrating after a few weeks. GoodDay (talk) 15:04, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've added a comment about the project standards. I don't want to bite anybody, but with that warning hanging out there now, deletion without discussion is easier to classify as bad faith. —C.Fred (talk) 16:43, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Alternate captains
[edit]I just saw the roster updated with a note that the official site's roster is out-of-date. If so, then from what source are we getting the alternate captains? —C.Fred (talk) 22:36, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- I just watch the games. This is how it usually goes: I'm not sure which players exactly, but two have As on just blue jerseys, while two have As on just white jerseys, and one player (I'm almost positive it's Kaberle) has an A on all three jerseys.
- Unless it's just been random, but all five players have been As for multiple games. Jc121383 (talk) 05:00, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Possible vandalism
[edit]Please double check the edit December 21 by 93.97.171.182 for possible vandalism.--Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:32, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Mayers was an 'alternate captains'
[edit]Before anybody howls that Mayers has no 'A' at the Leafs official website? Please note: the website hasn't updated the 'A's since the departures of Mats Sundin & Bryan McCabe (summer 2008). GoodDay (talk) 23:27, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Colton Orr
[edit]Maple Leafs site shows an ad for a Colton Orr jersey, showing #28. Is that enough to be put in the chart? Jeztah (talk) 23:38, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Phaneuf, Exelby, Sjostrom's numbers
[edit]Is there a source showing that Exelby is switching to #7 and giving Phaneuf #3? The Leafs' roster still shows Exelby in the #3 sweater with no number assigned to Exelby or Phaneuf. —C.Fred (talk) 18:46, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- Never mind, found it in the Globe and Mail. [1] —C.Fred (talk) 18:51, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Stekel Traded so Removed from Active Roster
[edit]Also modified JVR....I don't know where the rumours surfaced earlier this year as him as a Centre...he's been a winger his whole career, and will continue to play wing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.139.250.204 (talk) 18:10, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Some numbers are off
[edit]The Maple Leafs released uniform numbers for the 2014-15 season during Training Camp. Some numbers in the template are off. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spilia4 (talk • contribs) 20:39, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
Content of the Leafs Roster
[edit]I noticed tonight after Winnik got injured in the game, someone updated the roster to reflect that he was an 'injured' player. IMO, the roster should reflect the team's official roster...meaning, just because someone leaves the game with an injury doesn't mean that player's status should be altered on this page. Unless that player is put on the IR and removed from the active roster, the player's status shouldn't be changed. GLG GLG (talk) 09:56, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
A Bruins fan here...I KNOW Leafs fans really DO like Auston Mathews a whole lot (as B's fans love our no. 88, "Pasta", but did Auston actually clone himself multiple times to fill the whole roster? HIs name is in every listing, as I just checked! The PIPE (talk) 15:20, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
2020-21 Roster
[edit]Two questions regarding the special circumstances surrounding the 2020-21 Roster numbers: 1. Should the chart be split between the 'regular' roster and the 4-6 members of the newly created 'taxi squad'? 2. Even if we don't split the chart, there should be at most 29 players on the list: 23 on the regular roster, 4-6 on the taxi squad and none on injury reserve (I believe) as of the writing of my comment. Any reason for the extra names? Are the extras in limbo until the American Hockey League opens? Should they be 'hidden' from this list? Thanks for addressing these issues.Juve2000 (talk) 00:27, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- I think this template should be restricted to the 23-man roster so that it reflects players who are eligible to play. A member of the taxi-squad is just like someone on the AHL roster except they practice and travel with the NHL team. They are not eligible to play an NHL game unless they are called up to the actual roster. BLAIXX 16:51, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
- As of the writing of my response here, there are 36 players listed.Juve2000 (talk) 03:52, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- I just updated it to match the roster on the Leafs' website. There are now 25 players listed including 1 on IR. BLAIXX 04:27, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the edit. I am still a bit confused. I just checked the 'Player Roster Report" for the game on the 20th against Edmonton. There were 20 players listed as ready to play, 18 skaters and 2 goaltenders, plus one scratched player, 89-Robertson. The TSN website has him both going on IR and being sent down to the taxi squad. As for the other four (to get to the 25 listed on the roster here on Wikipedia), it seems 28-Anderson, 38-Sandin, 47-Engvall and 94-Baravarov were also on the taxi squad, but wait, it gets better. Per the TSN site 46-Lehtonen is back on the taxi squad, and both 77-Brooks and 28-Anderson have been called up from the taxi squad. I didn't make any changes as I may not be reading this properly or the Player Roster Report may not be the ultimate authority. If I am right, we should see 2 scratches for Friday's game unless more roster changes are made.Juve2000 (talk) 05:01, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- You might be onto something here. I think between the Leafs official roster page and the TSN Transaction History page (updated more frequently)[2] we can get decent accuracy. That also seems to line up with CapFriendly's daily roster tracker[3] which lists a roster of 22 (including Robertson on LTIR and Thornton on IR). If there are no more errors or transactions, the 20 healty roster players should all dress for tonights game. BLAIXX 15:14, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Over-sourced
[edit]@MicroManagingAH: I think two sources is enough. Six is overdoing it. GoodDay (talk) 23:31, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- OK, I am going to stop my side of the edit war. If I have gone over the limit of reverting, I apologize. I have summarized the SIX original sources below:
- 1. Lists LEAFS Roster
- 2. Lists all NHL Transactions - TSN
- 3. Lists all NHL Transactions - NBC
- 4. Lists all NHL Injuries
- 5. Lists ONLY LEAFS Transactions
- 6. Lists ONLY LEAFS Injuries
- It looks like we all agree with #1 - LEAFS Roster. Source #2 survived the original edit. I prefer Source #5 - as it only lists LEAFS transactions and one does not need to scroll through other teams' transactions to find the LEAFS transactions. I may also wish to add Source #6 - LEAFS INJURIES so we can confirm that actual injuries listed on the Wikipedia page are correct. Please let me know your thoughts. I will not make any changes without consensus. MicroManagingAH (talk) 01:03, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- @MicroManagingAH: you can add or remove any sources you want. I won't revert you, again. GoodDay (talk) 19:24, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- @MicroManagingAH: NBC and CBS sources pretty much mirror the TSN source so there is no need to reference pretty much the same reference. Want to change the sourcing on roster templates? Then bring it to WT:NHL. – Sabbatino (talk) 19:43, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- @MicroManagingAH: On the other hand, the TSN source seems to be broken for all teams (at least for me) so we change it with either the NBC or the CBS source. – Sabbatino (talk) 19:45, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- @MicroManagingAH: you can add or remove any sources you want. I won't revert you, again. GoodDay (talk) 19:24, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- Honestly, ONE source is enough: the only source that counts as to who is on the Leafs' roster is, well, the NHL itself. Neither TSN, NBC, CBS or any other media source constitutes official sources. Ravenswing 01:17, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Ravenswing: I partially agree with you. But what about a source for the transactions? – Sabbatino (talk) 17:53, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
- Why would we source transactions on the roster template, we don't show them on it. And the outcomes of any transaction would be on the roster which is referenced with the other reference. -DJSasso (talk) 18:53, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Ravenswing: I partially agree with you. But what about a source for the transactions? – Sabbatino (talk) 17:53, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
