Template talk:Simple Minds
Why use the Mark 1, 2/3 distinction in the album list?
[edit]To all interested parties. I am seriously considering editing the template in order to remove the "(mk. 1)" and "(mk. 2/3)" indicators from the album list. Personally, I do not find any reason for distinguishing between three incarnations of Simple Minds, and if such a distinction should be made for whatever reason, I have no idea where to put the dividing line between "mk. 2" and "mk. 3". Should that be the departure of Mick MacNeil or what? If yes, then why should that be the transition point more than the departure of Derek Forber for that matter? (I presume that for the "mk. 1" vs. "mk. 2" division, the transition point is the departure of Brian McGee.)
In any case, those familiar with the [Dream Giver Redux] website will know that, as of now, one can count up to 28 line-ups of the band. Still, if the core has always included Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, I think no-one will suffer if the template is changed not to put any "marks" on the album list.
If no convincing argument against my idea has appeared on this page by mid-August, I will edit the template as described above.
Yours,
