Digital Prosopography of the Roman Republic
The Digital Prosopography of the Roman Republic (DPRR) is a project at King's College London which incorporates various different sources to build what is basically a person-offices-relationship map of the Roman Republic's political elite. It organises and builds on previous research, especially T. R. S. Broughton's Magistrates of the Roman Republic and Klaus Zmeskal's Adfinitas (in German).
This template constructs external links to DPRR intended for use in something like an External links section at the bottom of a Wikipedia page.
Examples
[edit]Marcus Junius Brutus in the Digital Prosopography of the Roman Republic.
{{DPRR |id=2459 |name=Marcus Junius Brutus }}
Marcus Porcius Cato Uticensis in the Digital Prosopography of the Roman Republic.
{{DPRR |url=https://romanrepublic.ac.uk/person/2241/ |name=Marcus Porcius Cato Uticensis }}
Use of the IDs is preferred rather than URL. Use of names in something or something that could search, however, would be counterproductive due to the multitude of similarly named Romans. Eg, Gaius Julius Caesar, Gaius Julius Caesar, Gaius Julius Caesar, and Gaius Julius Caesar.
If name
is empty, then the template just gives a link to DPRR's main page.
