Tariq Marquese Carpenter (born December 28, 1998) is an American football linebacker who is a free agent. He played college football at Georgia Tech[1] and has previously played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Green Bay Packers
[edit]Carpenter was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round (228th overall) of the 2022 NFL draft.[4] On May 6, 2022, he signed his rookie contract.[5] He was released on August 30, 2023.[6]
Pittsburgh Steelers
[edit]On September 2, 2023, Carpenter was signed to the practice squad of the Pittsburgh Steelers.[7] He appeared in three games for the Steelers, logging one solo tackle and one assisted tackle. On December 17, Carpenter was released by Pittsburgh following his arrest the same day.[8]

Legal issues
[edit]On December 17, 2023, Carpenter was arrested in Pittsburgh after allegedly throwing a woman to the ground and holding her against her will, and charged with simple assault.[9]
