I find it very hard to believe that African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) is ever called zebrawood. Is it ever stripy? Can anyone provide a reference? Derek Andrews (talk) 19:33, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

shoulder arms have stocks, handguns have grips

[edit]

It is too bad that there is not a convenient single term for shotguns and rifles that is universally recognized. Shoulder arms is apparently too hard for WP editors, though it is used in the definition of stock at Merriam Webster Online. Long gun probably is unsatisfactory as well. So clearly we should stick with the simply wrong term handgun. DCDuring (talk) 19:10, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling it out as "shotguns and rifles" is a good solution. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 20:34, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
